I'm having a bit of an overhaul. I'm approaching 30 and Mum to 2 gorgeous girls (4 and almost 2). For the last 5 years (since first falling pregnant) life has revolved around the kids and I haven't given myself much of a second thought. Now that DD2 is coming out of the baby stage, I'd like to start making an effort with myself. I do wear a little make up and moisturise but I'm feeling a bit worse for wear and wondered what little things you all do that give you a bit of a confidence boost and make you feel at your best? Thanks Smile

Nails done! or give yourself a manicure :)
Tissue face mask - Garnier ones are sooo lovely.
Hair mask or trip to the hairdressers.
I bought this fluffy pink headband from Primark/Penneys to put on while I do my make up/get home from work and chill out and it makes me feel cute - even though it looks ridiculous but I feel great Grin it's the small things after all! Lol.
New pair of PJs/Slippers
xx

Nice hair cut.
Clothes that fit you properly and suit you.
Mani and a pedi.

Justanotherzombie · 10/04/2018 15:42

Counselling, to learn how to not see hair, makeup and nails as beauty. Only half joking😬

pinkflamingo121318 · 10/04/2018 15:52

Hair cut and colour!

If I could afford it, I would have my eyebrows and eyelashes done properly.

Also I looooove buying matching underwear.

BlondeB83 · 10/04/2018 15:54

Shallac, a new haircut and treat yourself to some good make up!

specialsubject · 10/04/2018 16:09

a smile.

makeup that doesn't show - the woman on the telly last night from the games in Oz had the worst paint job ever. I really really hope it was the brown stripes that someone had told her 'contours', and that she hadn't actually been beaten up!

please no mucky talons. Eewww.

remembering that 'gorgeous' and 'beautiful' are not the descriptions you want for you or your kids. How about 'smart' 'funny' intelligent' 'interesting' 'kind' 'generous' 'friendly' and so on.

Happyland8 · 11/04/2018 09:07

I've had the most lovely few days, hair masks, face masks, nails painted, brows done! Feeling good Smile and planning to keep it all up. Thanks all!

Sounds exhausting but glad it makes you feel good. Smile

DameLillyTillicut · 12/04/2018 12:02

Sounds wonderful Happy

Nothing wrong with a bit of self-care, however you choose to do it.

I'm currently nude mnetting waiting for my tan to dry. Might buff my nails later. Bliss!

alltoomuchrightnow · 12/04/2018 16:20

For me, it's about having smooth feet even if no one ever sees them..it's about how they physicallly feel.. I can't bear the thought of having dry scratchy feet. I file them every day (even if just a quick few seconds) so dry skin never builds up, and use Soap and Glory's foot cream (best I've found) also having smooth elbows/knees so I exfoliate them once a week..
I can't use masks as they irritate but something like Lush's Angels on Bare skin once a week is great
I do cover my rosacea daily unless I'm not leaving house..friends have mocked me for never going out without makeup but I can't bear all the red face comments, so why would I
I have lash extensions, that's my luxury (although to be honest have no choice since a technician ripped my lashes out four years ago)

bsbabas · 12/04/2018 18:39

Having some good clothes helps some jewellery. I like primary because you can experiment with looks and colours and not break the bank. Invest in good skin creme and dieing my hair and painting my toe nails always makes me feel better

FuckItPassMeTheWine · 12/04/2018 18:48

Eyelash curlers are my go to item , I think flash lashes look so "try hard/ glamour model wannabe " eyelash curlers work wonders on natural lashes and really accentuate your own eyes xx

FuckItPassMeTheWine · 12/04/2018 18:49

That was meant to say fake not flash 😂Not sure what type of eyelashes flash but stay clear of them too

FuckItPassMeTheWine · 12/04/2018 18:50

Oh and it literally takes 5 seconds xx

Turnocks34 · 12/04/2018 18:55

False tan and eye brows for me. Im also having a boob job in the summer holidays. My boobs started growing when I was 10, and stoppe growing when I was 11. I’ve been saving for two years, and now I’ve had my babies I’m getting them done. Can not wait.

mumof2exhausted · 12/04/2018 19:03

For me getting my eyebrows microbladed was amazing. Now all makeup I need is a bit of B.B. cream and mascara and because of my beautiful brows I looked groomed! And definitely good haircut / colour

halfwitpicker · 12/04/2018 19:09

Here's my ha'pence worth:

Good weight for my height
Daily shower including hair washed and styled
Make up
Clothes that fit and suit me
Exercise outdoors
Good diet - 80% of the time = lentils, veg, lean protein, yogurt etc. Pref low carb if I cba
Loads of water
8 hours sleep
Not much/no alcohol
Fake tan
Pedicure

WinnerWinnerChickenDinner0 · 12/04/2018 19:31

My beat tip is buy good quality clothes (in my case on eBay) 1 size bigger and get them tailored to fit you perfectly

Started doing it because nothing I tried on ever really fit me properly. Fantastic way to have a collection of perfect summer dresses
