To look for the best best brownies in London

I'm shamelessly on AIBU for traffic but hope you wise people can point me in the right direction. I'd like suggestions for somewhere near'ish' the National Gallery that serves fantastic brownies, where we can sit down for coffees etc. It will be as a treat for my chocoholic DD(12). More than happy to wander a little for somewhere special.

Leon's better brownie, don't get put off by the fact that it's gluten free. Heavenly!

Needtomakeachange · 08/04/2018 17:31

Thank you!

😂 I thought you meant girl guiding variety

hibbledibble · 08/04/2018 17:41

Haagen dazs cafe. Brownies and ice cream. Lush.

deptfordgirl · 08/04/2018 17:41

They have amazing brownies at Borough Market. Not close to National Gallery though and only on Saturdays.

hibbledibble · 08/04/2018 17:43

I've just checked and ignore my recommendation, the cafe is now closed Sad

Borough market does have nice food but it is jam packed and nowhere to sit. Too busy for my taste.

AyeAyeFishyPie · 08/04/2018 17:45

Paul A Young in Soho. They are a fiver a throw but seriously - better than sex (at least any I've had!!!)

BluthsFrozenBananas · 08/04/2018 17:53

There’s an art house cinema called picture house central just off Piccadilly Circus which has a cafe that sells some of the best brownies I’ve ever had. It’s a really nice, slightly tucked away cafe for coffee and lunch too, and less than a ten minute walk from the National gallery.

How about Choccywoccydoodah? www.choccywoccydoodah.com/locations/bar-du-chocolat-36.html

SaucyJane · 08/04/2018 17:55

user1471556443 · 08/04/2018 17:55

I have heard v good things about the brownies in konditor and cook, has anyone had them before??

willynillypie · 08/04/2018 17:57

I understand that this isn't exactly what you're asking for, but these are the best brownies I've ever eaten and maybe you and DS can make them one day at home:

Hummingbird Bakery

MsHomeSlice · 08/04/2018 17:58

nicest brownie I have had in a long time was from the market at Camden, the bit by the bridge, between the lock area and the stables. You can get the bus from TSquare to Camden!

NoHunsHereHun · 08/04/2018 17:59

Jacob The Angel in Seven Dials, just a short walk. Amazing and independent.

sleep5 · 08/04/2018 18:03

You could try Notes cafe by ENO & Chandos pub.

Amanduh · 08/04/2018 18:05

Paul A Young in Soho is your best around there. Expensive but heavenly

Bad brownie. You see their stalls every now and then at markets and pop up food events. They are amazing. Particularly the salted caramel ones.

DandelionAndBedrock · 08/04/2018 20:27

Definitely Konditor and Cook.

Urubu · 08/04/2018 20:31

Oh yes Konditor is amazing.

MrPotatosGirlfriend · 08/04/2018 20:32

Another Konditor and Cook fan. I'm back in London soon and will be eating several as I miss them!

LetBartlettBeBartlett · 08/04/2018 20:33
