To be pissed off at whoever decided we should all have unsliced bagels?

Just that really, the New York bagel company used to sell pre sliced bagels until a few years ago, then suddenly none of their bagels were pre sliced because "they had received feedback from customers wanting them not to be pre sliced" Hmm

Who would ever be agains pre sliced bagels 😭 it's a nightmare trying to slice them evenly and the crumbs go everywhere Angry

WTF is a bagel slicer? Isn't it just called a bread knife?

MongerTruffle · 07/04/2018 18:26

It's not lazy it's just that the slice ends up all squinty and crumbs go everywhere

Are you using a bread knife?

Yarboosucks · 07/04/2018 18:30

I bought their bagels for the first time in ages today and was completely confounded when they were not sliced! I thought I had bought a dud packet!

LuckyTwiglet · 07/04/2018 18:31

Cardibach noooooo! The whole bagel goes in the oven then is sliced only when taken out.

ChelleDawg2020 · 07/04/2018 18:31

Get a sharp knife. But to be honest I've never understood the point of bagels, if your bacon is hot it increases the risk of burning yourself.

bananastar · 07/04/2018 18:38

frenchduck I know someone, ahem, who did that too and has a scar on the top of their finger.

Sliced all the way

NoCureForLove · 07/04/2018 19:23

UABVVVU to eat them with bacon OP. Oy yoi yoi yoi yoi. Have some respect.

BikeRunSki · 07/04/2018 19:26

I prefer them unsliced. I have a sharp knife and am grown up enough to use it by myself.

I think Wartburton’s thin bagels are sliced, but who wants thin bagels?

CurlyBlueberry · 07/04/2018 19:30

I like the Warburton's ones. I only ever eat them toasted so their dryness is not a problem to me!

hazeyjane · 07/04/2018 19:30

God I love a bagel.

Out of all the shop ones, the New York ones are the best (IMO), but I miss the Whitechapel bagel shop for the best of the best bagels.

The presliced or thin ones are a blooming abomination, that bear no relation to bagels.(I may have complained.....i really love bagels)

drspouse · 07/04/2018 19:40

Oh no, now you've reminded me of the Ridley Road shop sobs.
But remember they are beigels.

Waitrose sell sliced bagels. I got a pack as due to disability cutting bagels isn't a great idea.

hazeyjane · 08/04/2018 08:20

I love bagels and beigels......
When I went to New York years ago on holiday, I ate so many bagels my stomach started to mutate and years later, thanks to Brick Lane Beigels, the New York Bagel company (and 3 children...), my stomach actually resembled a Beigel.

anxious2017 · 08/04/2018 09:10

Do you buy bags of pre chopped vegetables in the supermarket? (Always wonder who buys those

Me.

I'm disabled and can't peel and chop veg easily. They're a godsend. I've just read a thread on Twitter about how the only people who buy them must be lazy and disgusting, so to come here and read that too...

Cadsuane · 08/04/2018 13:07

I also buy lots of chopped fruit and veg. I can eat them (mostly) but I react to contact with my skin. I have to wear cotton gloves inside rubber gloves for most kinds of housework but I find this makes chopping more challenging as even with small gloves my fingers end before the end of the gloves and I end up chopping the gloves too!
