To ask homeless to help me?

Okay so not technically homeless, which is why I think I might be being unreasonable.

Situation is- New flatmate moved in. Constant partying, myself being sexually assaulted in the communal kitchen by one of his guests. More constant noise, now it’s screaming shouting arguing and fighting.

Can’t sleep, anxiety is at a high. Flashbacks occurring from my violent marriage. Can feel a seizure coming (I’m epileptic) been so well controlled for so long. Feels like I’m going back to square one and no longer safe in my own home. This was my first safe place. I’ve been here for nearly 5 years. My other lovely flatmate has lost his job because of noise and lack of sleep.

WIBU to ask housing to help me? We have complained to the agents and to environmental health. Sexual assault was reported to police

Please be gentle with me. Can’t afford the deposit to move or believe me I would.

Who’s flat is it? Do you rent, from housing?

OurMiracle1106 · 07/04/2018 08:37

It’s through an agency. We have reported the noise including to environmental health

I don't think Shelter would think that you were unreasonable in calling thier helpline, they help with so many issues to do with housing and the threat of homelessness. It may take a while to get through but they would be able to give you some good advice.

Whereabouts do you live? In some areas council/ housing association properties are worth registering for, especially if you only need a studio/ 1-bed. I was offered several places within a few months.

It's a much more secure tenancy than private, and cheaper rent.

I live in south east London. I work so could reasonably afford a studio hence asking to be moved. It would literally be until I had enough for a deposit. I pay my rent on x date of the month for a whole month

Talk to shelter. I’m pretty sure there’s some schemes that help with deposits
