America and drink driving in films

Is it not such a big deal there? I seem to watch so many films where it's implied that people drink and drive.

Watched The Big Sick and Moonlight recently where people drink and then drive. I find it really weird!

I was watching Four Weddings and a Funeral last night on TV and was mildly surprised at one character, who's clearly hammered, driving them off to the castle after one of the weddings! This I wouldn't have noticed 25 years ago so it's interesting how the culture has changed.

I was quite surprised by how acceptable it was when I was in the USA. I stayed in Denver and LA with family several times and they all seem quite happy to have 3 or 4 drinks and then drive.

Didn't think there was a UK drink driving limit. Pretty sure Scotland's is considerably lower than England and Wales.

UK drink drive limits are here. Yes they are lower in Scotland.

In North Carolina there are dry counties where no alcohol is sold.
Each county have their own rules.
Alcohol must be transported wrapped in the boot of the car in some counties.

The County in Tennessee where Jack Daniels Ian made is, hilariously, dry.

Is, not Ian of course.
