Yes, the experience we had of an independent was total arrogance. Somehow because they weren't maintained they could call the shots. Like zzzz further upthread, unless you experience the lies and contempt first hand, you really wouldn't believe it really happens. There is such a lack of choice with provision that families are stuck. Stanbridge Earls for one thought blaming the pupil was an easy way out of safeguarding. In other places it goes on but gets hidden. Also in our case the school pulled two 1:1 sessions (being funded to take place weekly) because DS "wouldn't engage" so apparently that's that. Never mind the fact that he has SEN and they're supposedly specialist, apparently that's his fault not theirs . Why do they even think hes there?? Don't get me started on exclusions!! Angry

Another thing that tipped me over the edge at the independent was when the haughty Senco said "DS is incredibly lucky to have a place here" it seriously caused me to jump out of my tree and is the only time I have ever shouted at another adult in my whole life Angry Does she seriously think anyone considers themselves "lucky" to have to send a child to a special school?
