I used to work full time. I now do part of the same job over three days a week, and we took on a second person to work 5 days a week to do the admin part of my job.
She turned out to be unreliable and has now decided to up and leave with no notice, leaving me with the same job to do in 3 days instead of 5.
I can go in for half days on my two days off. I have been given the option of being paid, or taking extra time off. The second isnt an option as I struggle to do all my work in three days anyway, so don’t need more time off. The thing is from a company point of view, half a day is four hours. I am actually working five hours to try to catch up, plus it’s a half hour drive each way, so I am losing six hours of my day off.
Aibu to ask to be paid six hours if I come in on my day off. Or to ask to be paid for doing my job full time and taking work home with me at weekend to make up the missing hours? (I worked out that I actually do 5 hours unpaid not including my ‘extra’ travel time so technically 3 hours short of. Being full time anyway).
