Just that really! I have 3 DDs 1.3.9 and my god I tidy CONSTANTLY but when one of the small ones is sitting nicely the other is trashing the place. I don’t want to wish the years away but I honestly can’t wait to be able to relax just a little bit!!

jude to be fair my 9yo is really good at helping! The 3yo helps sometimes but it involves being rewarded with money or sweets. DH is out tonight and the house is half tidy Grin

Mine are ten and 14 and the house is immaculate. I’m pretty sure it’s because they’re well trained though. When they come looking to chat and i’m In the kitchen I say sure i’ll Listen if you just empty that washing machine/dishwasher/hang up the laundry once you’re done etc. Or sure i’ll Come play with you but I have to get dinner made/beds changed so if you peel the spuds/change the pillows while I chop the chicken/change the duvet i’ll Be with you sooner. It’s just second nature now. Sx

Yes, the dust and mess will still be there but your children will have grown but that doesn't help when you're practically living in a midden and it's depressing the hell out of you!

Sometimes cleaning needs to be done. It just has to be. Clothes need to be washed, surfaces need wiping, the dishwasher needs emptying.

But I get you and I only have 1. I wandered round M&S home yesterday looking at cream sofas and knitted cushions, dreaming of the day I don't have sticky chocolate hands and a dog that scratches everything...

I'm the same I've got 2 a 3 year old and a 1 year old. I long for the day when I don't live in fear of what I find under my sofa's😬 and when I stand in something wet and think my god what is that. Sticky fingers marks and what I thought was a big 4 bed house now I feel like I'm getting slowly squeezed out of it with all the crap!! And to have a lovely relaxing bath without a load of bath toys in it

I find it really stressful. I am trying to be more ‘ok’ with mess but urgh it makes me grumpy. I fantasise about having a lovely clean house with DC that tidy up after themselves. I’m sat here on the sofa surrounded by debris. The room was spotless this morning and I don’t have the energy to tidy again.
