Just turned up at my cleaning job. Next to the kettle is a little Easter cake and a bag of mini eggs. Are they for me??
For info the resident doesn't use the kettle just the posh coffee maker he got off Santa.
Aibu to eat them?
What have you thought was for you but wasn't actually?
Coffee made so need answers soon!

I'd say no unless there's a note, how embarrassing to eat them if they're not meant for you!

4GreenApples · 05/04/2018 12:48

I think it would be better to leave them alone unless there’s some sort of note explicitly saying they’re for you.

You could get in a bit of a mess if they’re intended for someone else and just haven’t been put away or given to the someone else yet.

SnowWhitesRestingBitchFace · 05/04/2018 12:53

Jesus Christ no don't eat them unless there is a note! I'd be mortified from both sides of this situation if you ate them and they weren't intended for you!

SnowWhitesRestingBitchFace · 05/04/2018 12:53

Although I can understand the temptation 😬

MinisterforCheekyFuckery · 05/04/2018 13:06

I wouldn't assume they're for you. Surely if they were then there would be a note.

Aprilmightmemynewname · 05/04/2018 13:27

There is only me who uses the kettle that's why I was eggcited!!

I'd eat them but be really careful to wipe all the chocolate off my face

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 05/04/2018 13:41

I bet they are for you. But I wouldn't eat them without a note saying so.

justawhisper · 05/04/2018 13:42

Can you contact him and ask? Has he ever left you treats before?

BrutusMcDogface · 05/04/2018 13:47

No, I'd leave them out of politeness as you don't know if they're meant for you, but then next time they might be out again, with a note this time Smile

Oh bless you - I bet they are for you, but I would probably leave them if there wasn’t a note.

sprinkleofsunshine · 05/04/2018 13:56

I'd send a quick text and ask if he'd like you to put the cake in your gob in the fridge in case it spoils.

This has made me chuckle.

In pre-internet times, a group of us who lived near secondary school used to drop into each others' houses for coffee and a snack before we all went to our own homes.

At my home, I thought Mum had been really kind leaving a bought chocolate Swiss Roll and pack of chocolate chip cookies on the worksurface, it was usually a homemade cake. She was in the lounge talking to a friend of hers who'd popped in so I said a quick Hi and rejoined my friends in the kitchen.

Soon there were only a couple of slices of cake and a few biscuits left when Mum appeared in the kitchen to say her friend was leaving and she needed to get her friend's shopping she'd left in there. Blush Blush Blush
