To want Primark online!

It's 2018 and Primark still don't have an online website!

Why?! I need it!

I imagine with their cheap prices it simply wouldn't be profitable.

PeanutButterSquash · 05/04/2018 12:57

Maybe because its dirt cheap and so costs are kept minimal and as such an online and offline store just isn't viable?
Surely its cheap enough that having to go in store is worth it?

Gemini69 · 05/04/2018 13:04

I live remotely... I'd love an online Primark Grin

RunMummyRun68 · 05/04/2018 13:06

They are getting more and more expensive yet the goods are still shabby

They aren't all that anymore, if they ever were!

Pinkvoid · 05/04/2018 13:10

They don’t need to go online, they already make a substantial profit every year. If their profits slowed down, I’m sure they’d move to the online market but they have no need to.

I agree with runmummy though, their prices are now pretty phenomenal for what remains terrible quality.

KermitsLoveChild · 05/04/2018 13:10

Same here Gemini69. Our nearest store is 3 hours away, would love to be able to purchase online.

nipersvest · 05/04/2018 13:32

they trialed online on the asos website a couple of years ago with a small range, not sure why they didn't continue.

orangesmartieseggs · 05/04/2018 13:57

It's not worth it at their prices. Online delivery isn't a cheap thing to do!

RavenLG · 05/04/2018 14:00

Ok.. but expect prices to skyrocket and being far too overpriced for the quality even more so

KC225 · 05/04/2018 14:01

I should imagine if there is a small profit margin, its not worth it. Poundland trialled one briefly and then stopped it.

KurriKurri · 05/04/2018 14:16

It wouldn't work - you'd have to order hundreds of items, fling them round your living room and then invite all your neighbours in to jostle you, poke you in the eye, throw the clothes on the floor and tread on them, then form a 300 yard queue, in order to recreate the true Primark experience.

SnowWhitesRestingBitchFace · 05/04/2018 14:16

I worked for Primark for three years and the reason we were always given was that the turnover of new stock is simply too high to keep up with an online store (which makes total sense, I worked early in the morning so was there for both of our daily delivery's and I'm talking mountains of new lines everyday. Much much more then a regular retail store).

SnowWhitesRestingBitchFace · 05/04/2018 14:17

@KurriKurri also that! 😂

MissionItsPossible · 05/04/2018 14:48

I’m surprised Uber hasn’t got in on it myself.

alltoomuchrightnow · 05/04/2018 14:49

they've said they'd never do it.. otherwise it won't then be a cheap store

MrsJayy · 05/04/2018 14:52

I was just coming to say what the ex primark worker said the clothes are in and out so quickly online would be just their basics that they always have in

Gemini69 · 05/04/2018 14:57

SnowWhitesRestingBitchFace

that makes sense actually... it's constantly updating ... boo hiss hahahaaaa Flowers

MrsJayy · 05/04/2018 14:59

Unless you want pants they always have the same pants 😁

StylishMummy · 05/04/2018 17:12

Because their returns % currently is so low (as the queues are notorious and the individual item value is so low) online sales can see return rates of up to 50%, all of which costs a lot, which would be passed on in the price of the clothes

HolidayHelpPlease · 05/04/2018 19:05

They tried it a few years ago (2013 I think?) on ASOS. Only lasted a few months!

ForalltheSaints · 05/04/2018 19:09

I do not want Primark online. I do not want Primark to have any assistance in growing their business. If you want cheap and nasty clothes there are alternatives online.

halfwitpicker · 05/04/2018 19:11

Never gonna happen. Its too cheap, basically.

And how would they manage their returns?!
