Your kids no longer have names: they're now DD, DC, DS.

Someonr mentions your username on TV (Pll in my case) and you turn around and say "what?"

Your Autocorrect corrects "Mum" to "Mumsnet".

You smirk every time you see a dirty sock or a plastic beaker.

A friend is venting, and you answer with "Yanbu".

I had to give up Mumsnet for lent.. and I really struggled. Chocolate was easy in comparison!

Fruitcorner123 · 03/04/2018 21:41

StepAwayFromGoogle

I do that all the time!

cate16 · 03/04/2018 21:44

~word~ for whatsapp

Neverender · 03/04/2018 21:53

When you find yourself saying, "My friend did that the other day and ....." and it's someone's thread you're talking about Smile

Orchidflower1 · 03/04/2018 22:16

Thanks carrot and cate for strike through ( I know I’m slightly going off thread) Hmm

halfwitpicker · 03/04/2018 22:20

You pull this Hmm face on a regular basis.

Other people look at you like you're barmy.

IveGotBillsTheyreMultiplying · 03/04/2018 22:25

You can recognise other posters from their writing, content or layout style without reading the username.

When, during a disagreement with DP you exclaim 'you are being COMPLETELY unreasonable' And they respond 'for gods sake this is gonna end up on Mumsnet later isn't it?' 😂

TeachesOfPeaches · 03/04/2018 22:29

I miss this Confused when using WhatsApp or text.

Sgtmajormummy · 03/04/2018 22:32

When your eye is caught by DS, DH on car number plates...

NameChangeBiatch · 03/04/2018 22:37

I agree i'veGotBills. Don't why I bother.

When your DP who had never heard of it before he met you now is obsessed and actively stalks you but doesn't even hide it anymore and knows exactly what LTB is.

turnipfarmers · 03/04/2018 22:40

When you see something outrageous happen in public and you wonder what would happen if the cast members of AIBU were all there and started a bun fight.

givemesteel · 03/04/2018 22:43

Every time something happens in your life that winds you up, you find yourself mentally composing a post and imagining loads of Mumsnetters telling you YANBU...

Oh yes definitely!

If I knew it definitely wasn't going to end up in the daily mail I'd start alot more aibu's!

vampirina · 03/04/2018 22:43

I accidentally say 'am I being unreasonable' or 'you are being unreasonable' pretty much daily.

SnowiestMountain · 03/04/2018 22:45

Pretty much all of these!! I have started to strike through on email a lot though and really have to resist using DH & DC's and YANBU on text!

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 03/04/2018 22:51

When, instead of heading straight to google, you click on MN Advanced Search first!

Finding it hard to believe I don't know anyone IRL that is a MN regular.
I now have pictures in my head of what certain user names look like as a person (I'm probably way off) .
If you have any question on your mind you Google question and automatically type Mumsnet after the question.
going away totally impressed that theres a strike through on WhatsApp Grin.

FrangipaniBlue · 03/04/2018 23:19

I've started talking in MN speak in real life too, seriously need to spend more time working and less on MN!!!

hungryhippo90 · 03/04/2018 23:36

When you’re talking to people and come out with - you’re definitely being unreasonable here! As if it’s the gold standard insult to their actions!

When you start using the term CF in real life.

When you post on groups on Facebook etc with DD, DH, MIL, FIL.

Or when you say to the members of your family “so this situation. Xxxxxxx and xxxxxxxx this happened xxxxxxx xxxxxxx xxxxxxx WHAT do you think?! Tell me who’s wrong- i know but I just don’t understand how that person is so U (U is an understood term in our house) the answer is usually Mumsnet again?

Oh I love it. MIL thinks everyone on mumsnet is a personal friend of mine, and we’re all a bit sad talking to strangers about our lives! Personal details should remain just that. She doesn’t understand it at all.

Mumsnet becomes a talking point in real life!!

hungryhippo90 · 03/04/2018 23:37

Soup maker- YES!!

Gide · 03/04/2018 23:52

Every other thing I say to DP starts with “there’s a thread on mumsnet...”. 😊

Oops, me too so I’ve started anonymising it by saying ‘On a forum....’ He knows what I mean Blush

I try to work out who the poster is because I think I know them from another forum.
