AIBU to hide my expensive skincare and get cross whenever DD uses it without asking? I have specialised skincare due to Rosacea and its not cheap, yet DD 'borrows' it ! Angry

DD denies it as well, even though find it in her room or not where I put.
Often find my make up in her room as well.. Has plenty of her own. I wouldn't mind ironically if she asked about the make up or skincare.. Would not share but buy her similar.

I know we all borrowed mums make up as teenagers but have explained about my skin and the cost to look after it and please don't use it as you don't need it.

God no! No hiding.

Blushthis reminds me of the time I used my mums christian dior cleanser ! The whole new bottle 🙈. I was 10 and in big trouble. I didn't do it again.
If telling her off is not working then as a pp said I would tell her that she is paying out of her pocket money even if it takes weeks.

I’m dreading the teen years with my DDs after reading about this sort of thing on here!

We work bloody hard to pay bills and buy the kids stuff etc so every now and again if I have some spare money my guilty pleasure is nice make up (benefit, morphe palettes etc), nice shower stuff (bath and body works), nice perfume and decent hair care (I colour my hair so like higher end stuff to care for it)

I’m sure as hell they will be using any of it! Especially without asking! Think I’m going to put a pad lock on my wardrobe thing (area for clothes and wee shelves for perfume etc) as another poster says I will buy them the necessities maybe a nice piece of make up for Christmas or birthdays if asked for but otherwise they will need to get a job if they want nicer things

YANBU.

I didn’t realise this was a thing though - I never borrowed any of my mum’s skincare or make up!

Hijacking to ask what products you use as also have rosacea...

Huntinginthedark · 03/04/2018 16:37

god I used to "borrow" everything, though I never liked her old lady perfume (chanel!)
and actually I still do! she's never said anything to me! she can borrow anything of mine!

Nice idea. x Hubby looking at putting lock on bedroom door now. Will have to move Laundry basket out then...No it cannot go in bathroom as too small...
