To take a 10 week old abroad?

A very close family member is getting married abroad (Italy) 10 weeks after my baby's due date, if it wasn't for the wedding I wouldn't consider travelling with a baby this young but it'd kill me & family member to not go Sad I'm worried about how the change in temp will affect baby and worried if something happens with his health while over there (will only be there for 5 days and my whole family will be there)

Is it awful to take a baby this young abroad??
Does anyone have any advice??

Flights and accommodation is already booked and has been for a long time!

Best time as babies are so portable, far easier than toddlers but even thats not so bad, i travelled all the time till my youngest was 3, from 10 weeks old, probably 12 trips.. So much easier than with my then 11 year old.

Travelling with a baby is relatively easy! Much easier than travelling with a toddler!!!

We were supposed to go to Italy last year for a wedding but were advised not to by the GP as there was a measles outbreak and DS was too young for the vaccine. Just maybe check out where you’re going but it could have all died down by now!

Went to Florida with our 10 week old a few years ago. It was fab and at that age they are very portable!

I flew on my own with my baby 6 weeks post c section, and again at 8 weeks. Absolutely no problem whatsoever. Just go with the flow and bring a sling. All will be fine.

Can you leave booking flights etc til the baby is here? Make sure you have adequate insurance. If due in 10 weeks will poss be 8 weeks old. If you have c section you prob won’t be that up for travelling. Personally I think there are too many unknowns to book before the baby is here

When dc2 was five weeks I took both my DC away on holiday as a solo parent, with everything we needed for the trip in a backpack.

I did wonder if I was mad at the time, but actually it was lovely.

How many vaccinations will the baby have had by then? I wouldn’t consider it to be honest. But I’ve only had c sections and I would not have been up for that amount of travel on blocks of 2 hour sleeps. And I wouldn’t want to use a strange cot etc. But the worry of being exposed to a shedload off potential illnesses on the plane would be the most pressing, I think.
