To wonder if AIBU is full of anti labour & anti Lib Dem fake news

Timeforachange2018 · 02/04/2018 11:08

Logged into AIBU this morning to find an anti labour- anti Corbyn post and an anti Lib Dem post. As mumsnet is considered quite influencial, is it becoming a hunting ground for fake news and Tory propaganda. I find it all a bit disturbing to be honest - Aibu

OP posts:
IMBU · 02/04/2018 20:58

Two posts brought you to that conclusion? Right.

Mydoghatesthebath · 02/04/2018 21:05

Sorry was that to me?

Mydoghatesthebath · 02/04/2018 21:06

Sorry IMBU think you meant for the op.

SnowJokeAnymore · 02/04/2018 21:22

Slarti, well I believe myself!

Mydoghatesthebath · 02/04/2018 21:29

slarti

Very ignorant comments.

Just because a Labour Party member thinks Corbyn is bad for labour and are very concerned about momentum anti Semitic views and the mysogyny from some in the party regarding trans issues. Because I and thousands of other Labour Party members want Corbyn to hold the Tories to account snd to lead the fight to the Tories doesn’t make us Tory trolls or part of some conspiracy.

Get head out of arse

Slarti · 02/04/2018 22:11

Jeremy Corbyn has cunningly hidden his anti semitism by campaigning against it for all these years. The crafty swine. Luckily there are "Labour supporters" who are on to him and are vigilantly making sure we focus our criticism on him and not the openly racist, misogynistic, homophobic party in government. Wink

caroldecker · 03/04/2018 01:26

Slarti where has he campaigned against anti-semitism in his party? Even Momentum agree it is a problem.
Support what you want but don't be blind.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 03/04/2018 07:22

Carol, corbyn has spoken out against anti semitism. A quick google will tell you as much.

IHatemeat · 03/04/2018 07:23

You’re sweet to think that anti Semitic behaviour in the Labour Party is fake news. Does it make you feel better?

Mydoghatesthebath · 03/04/2018 07:28

Yes fake all fake although momentum don’t think so and have publicly stated ‘it’s not a right wing smear campaign’

Wow so what now?

Corbyn has spoken out against a lot of things but it’s actions that actually matter.

Still hopefully momentum will make changes. So next mysogyny of the trans movement will be tackled?

Slarti you know if you stopped the Tory scum rubbish you might see the wood for the trees.

Schnauzermum2 · 03/04/2018 07:54

But the assumption on mumsnet is that if you’re a pro Brexit Tory you’re some kind of puppy killing devil incarnate! No doubt there are some sort of political representatives on here, but real or not they open up discussion about politics which can surely only be a good thing. Labour under Corbyn are currently dying a death (which was somewhat inevitable. Let’s face it with the current economic climate they should have about 75%support, but most people recognise Corbyn for what he is (a racist and sexist 1970strade Union relic) and desperately want a strong opposition. Up to very recently. When there is a story of how shit the tories have been similar posts hit AIBU

Mydoghatesthebath · 03/04/2018 08:23

Thing is I totally have no problems at all with different political views and debates here snd in real life but increasingly the far left and the far right are becoming more and more strident and vitriolic.

I object strongly to any criticism of Corbyn makes you not a concerned labour supporter but a Tory scum bag bot or troll.

It’s so very tiresome.

TreesAgreen · 03/04/2018 08:46

There has always been political bots, from all parties on here, you can usually spot them.

There are also lots of posters who take politics very seriously, and will post and debate.

There have been loads of threads about the Tories, lots of posts in threads about how bad Tory policies are and what's happening to the country.

There may have been a Russian bot on here too, it's was pointed out at the time by a poster who was then band, and posters laughted at the idea as ridiculous tin hat territory.

The susposed bot poster in question, was regarded quite often as a bit of a crackpot too. But They were interesting to talk to on many subjects. If anything it was nice to have such different views, as the debates that were stimulated only lead to bolster my own thoughts.

There is a poster who over the years has been accused of been a Labour bot, as they argue fiercely, seem to have an unbelievable amount of knowledge on politics, past and present, with dater links posted to back them up. Labour bot then?
No, if you see what they are posting now it is in absalute despair at the labour party. If you hadn't seen their years of posting for the labour party, posters like the OP might think they were a right-wing bot.

Alltheprettyseahorses · 03/04/2018 09:10

I'm happy to be corrected but I don't think Labour would be overly interested in Mumsnet atm, given the total lack of response to the webchat invitation. Saying that, there were some really odd pro-Corbyn threads around the time of the GE.

I don't get this fake-news-Blairite stuff if you criticise Corbyn (not generally if you say anything about Labour, just him). He's been around for decades, a lot of us have heard of him and his activities before and he hasn't been impressive to say the least. Please stop telling us Corbyn's spent his entire career campaigning for . He probably hasn't, you'd just like him to have done so. We need to move on from the (non)personality cult. He's a public servant who isn't doing his job. Most of our politicians aren't. But we tell ourselves stories about how great they are and how we're special because no one else understands how wonderful they are (I'm including the likes of Rees-Mogg in this too). They're not popstars. They're silly people indulging their own whims at our expense and getting away with it.

I'm an ex-Labour voter (yep!) who won't vote them again even when Corbyn goes because of the serious lack of judgement they've shown means I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them. I'd never, ever vote Tory anyway and my brief dabble in LibDemming is over. The new Renew party? Maybe, depending on their manifesto and if they stand candidates. For now I'm going to spoil my ballot.

Slarti · 03/04/2018 12:44

Corbyn has spoken out against a lot of things but it’s actions that actually matter.

Action like standing with Jews at the battle of Wood Green to successfully stop a National Front march? The utter bastard, eh?

Slarti · 03/04/2018 12:45

I wonder what actions other MPs (especially those throwing the mud) have ever taken for any cause at all, let alone this one.
