Letter notifying me of a payrise

I received a letter last week from my employer confirming a cost of living increase to my salary - im very grateful for this and am aware that i am lucky to be working for an employer that is offering its staff a raise...

My issue is with the wording of the letter - it starts off highlighting all of the achievements of the company over the last 12 months, details the increment and finishes off with a line about how the CE wants us to keep contributing to the company's success

Nowhere in the letter does it thank staff for their hard work... We have worked bloody hard to achieve the impossible and in some cases achieve something that no-one else in our sector has. We are growing very quickly and people are working their arses off to ensure that things dont go belly up (starting work an hour earlier - unpaid - & logging on in the evenings and at weekends... again unpaid)

All i want is some bloody thanks to show that my work & that of my colleagues is welcomed and recognised... AIBU to want to hear/see the words "Thank you?"

yes, i probably am

I don't think you are being unreasonable.

Whenever I receive a written confirmation of a pay increase it has always included all of the general bits you have described but also thanks everyone for their hard work etc etc before going on to say keep up the good work in the year to come blah blah.

It's surely just basic manners to thank staff for their contributions.
