I keep reading about Rebelfit and how it's different to other diets out there, but I don't know anyone who has actually done it.

I do have some weight to lose and have done very little fitness wise following an injury a few years ago.

I would be particularly interested in the Reborn plan.

Just interested to hear other's experiences, what the food plan and support is like, is it worth the money basically.

I was going to ask this question too. From what I can make out it's just a rebrand of saying everything in moderation with a moderately active lifestyle.

Not really sure what the subscription fee actually gets you.

GrimDamnFanjo · 13/04/2018 17:09

I think their marketing is really good. They also seem to make it all about your own progress. I've not met anyone who has been a member though I am so n their email list.

Hello rebel fitter here. I haven't don't the last two plans but it kickstarted my fitness after car accidemt and helped me understand food, cravings and triggers.

He's straight talking but it's a real eye opener. I would say it takes 1 or 2 missions to get to grips with understanding nutrition.

It is not a diet. It will take longer to lose weight but it's less likely to pile back on.

Mightymucks · 13/04/2018 17:21

Ahem. And how much do you get paid for promoting their products?

HanutaQueen · 13/04/2018 17:30

Well, he doesn't have products. You pay what you'd pay any other nutritionist or personal trainer. He makes nothing from flogging dodgy ready meals. There's a lot of genuinely good advice on his website and blog that is free to view.

It's not a quick fix, you don't lose 2lb a week, it's not a 'diet' because he doesn't say 'you must eat this and not eat this'. It's the difference between knowing how to make the right choices (because if it were as easy as knowing vegetables were good for you we would all just eat those instead) and feeling like making the right choices.

And there's no feeling guilty because you ate chocolate, or because you ate 'off plan'. Because food is just food and not evil or bad or naughty or clean or dirty.

He has good science behind what he says; the main reason I like him is that he doesn't care about 'slim' he cares about 'fit and mentally well'.

@Mightymucks

Hmm

Absolutely nothing funnily enough. I like the swearing.

footballmum · 13/04/2018 19:37

I’ve done one of his missions. I’d already reached the conclusion that diets fuck with your head and make you fatter. He passionately hates the diet industry in particular slimming world! In short, the approach is “eat more, exercise more” which of course makes total sense but you do have to commit to spending a lot of time exercising, particularly if, like me, you have an otherwise sedentary lifestyle.

I can’t say I lost any weight on the mission I did but it helped me finally get rid of the notion that I have to starve myself to lose weight and I have built exercise into my daily life and the weight is starting to gradually come off. I’ve definitely got a much better relationship with food as a result 🙂

I should also add that I did the Bronze mission and am aware that there’s much more focus on exercise in the Silver and Gold missions.

LaBurraRioja · 14/04/2018 13:13

Thanks Random for bumping this.

I missed the start of the latest mission as I was still trying to research it and not really finding much solid information. Having read the posts I think this may be worth a try when the next mission comes around. I've tried everything else and diets have totally messed my head up

Like footballmum I did one mission (silver in my case) which meant I got lots of food and exercise advice and motivation. Like her, I didn’t lose on the mission but got my head in a better place and felt mentally and physically fitter. I am now making better choices for myself and beginning to see improvements. It’s a long term commitment not a quick fix.

LiquoriceTea · 14/04/2018 13:23

I kind of liked his initial diets are crap approach but i paid a fortune (to me) for the last bronze mission. I'm obese so target group.

However I lost it about week 6. By the time it got into categorizing food and trying to restrict to unprocessed food and counting calories etc it lost me :(

maras2 · 14/04/2018 13:36

My DDIL does Rebelfit and my DD does Slimming World.
They both seem to lose the same amount.
I'm too old and set in my ways to be arsed to do either so I look after DGC's instead Smile
