To ask you to help me lose weight?

I probably am but I honestly don't know what to do.

I have an eight month old and DP and I have decided to get married in June; I know it's not a lot of notice but we just would like it done. Problem is I'm 13 stone and I can't seem to shift it Sad I'm asking if anyone has any weight loss tips or meal plans that helped them (that don't leave you starving, as snacking is my problem). Please help me to not be fat bride, I know I can't lose loads in that time but I want to try my absolute best to lose as much as I can Sad

You'll need willpower but it will work if you stick to it thebloodsugardiet.com I lost stone and a half in two months and have kept it off for past year and retrained my tastebuds and way of eating. Loads more energy, clearer skin, feel brighter.

Are you breastfeeding OP? If you are, I’d recommend Slimming World (I’ve just lost 2.5st in 9 weeks, still going!). I’m not hungry at all. I’ve had numerous meals ouT, cake for birthdays etc, and I’ve still lost that weight.

If you’re not breastfeeding, I think low carb or low carb high fat is a great way to lose weight. I’ve had rapid success with that in the past. The increased protein and fat keeps you fuller for longer.

TroubledLichen · 29/03/2018 21:28

Don’t have stuff in the house that tempts you. If you’re craving say a chocolate bar, it’s a lot easier to say no when you’d have to go out in the rain to the corner shop to buy one.

TroubledLichen · 29/03/2018 21:31

And it’s a false economy to starve yourself at meal times. Make healthy choices but make sure you leave the table full after every meal. If you restrict your portions too much then you’ll want to snack even more.

Bluntness100 · 29/03/2018 21:31

Id do low carb high fat, come on over to bootcamp, your hunger decreases hugely and you don't snack.

Treaclepie19 · 29/03/2018 21:45

I lost 1 and a half stone on slimming world in 2 months. Before that I'd lost a stone calorie counting between July and October.
It's a hard slog but so worth it. Good luck!

TalkinPeece · 29/03/2018 21:48

Stop SNACKING
eat ONLY at meal times
no snacks / grazing ever ever ever

drink a large glass of water before each meal
try to cut down on sugary drinks other than with meals / dinner

your meals will increase as the snacks stop
but make the increases be real food ....
eggs, cheese, fruit, veg, chicken, fish, bread
NOT
processed / ready meals / takeaways

but not snacking is the best change you can make

BluePony · 29/03/2018 21:53

Is Diet Coke okay to drink?

OP posts:
TalkinPeece · 29/03/2018 21:55

Treat all fizzy drinks as you would alcohol
sweeteners confuse your system
if you can wean yourself off sweet then weight management starts to get easy Smile

NeverTwerkNaked · 29/03/2018 21:59

Could you add in some exercise somewhere? I have lost a stone since the start of January just eating more healthily and making sure i do 30 mind exercise at least 5 days a week (swim/ v slow run/spinning class). I did calorie counting long enough to “relearn” a sensible amount of food in a day.

But don’t panic, wedding dresses can look beautiful on curvier women, don’t starve yourself, just use this to kickstart a healthier lifestyle

theredjellybean · 29/03/2018 21:59

You need to accept being hungry.
Snacks are completely unnecessary for adults.
Eat when you are genuinely hungry and make sure you wait a bit first.
Smaller portions no snacks, more exercise
Sorry op it might not be fun but bottom line is you are currently eating more calories than you need, eat less than you need and you'll lose weight

FlaminYon · 29/03/2018 21:59

I need to lose a lot before a wedding in Italy in August so I know the urgency and panic. I work shiftwork though so eating at regular times is next to impossible. If you have the freedom to plan and eat at regular times then all the advice you get here will work for sure. Best of luck and congratulations Smile

FiloPasty · 29/03/2018 21:59

To wean yourself of Diet Coke I found giving myself ‘a rule’ so I’m allowed a glass of Diet Coke but only if I drink a full glass of water first.
I cut down slowly and now mainly drink water just a cold Diet Coke very occasionally

TalkinPeece · 29/03/2018 22:01

Weight loss is
90 % cutting down on food
10% increasing exercise

I would normally suggest ramping up the exercise - so that your body gets toned as you lose weight
BUT
OP has a baby - it might be a bit of an ask

DannyLaRuesBestFrock · 29/03/2018 22:01

Blood sugar diet. Blood sugar diet. Blood sugar diet. That is all I can recommend if you want to shift weight fast. I've never lost weight so fast and never felt hungry. Killed my want for sugar.

But you need to be in it. Heart and soul.

DannyLaRuesBestFrock · 29/03/2018 22:03

Drink sparkling water with lemon/lime/cucumber - a slice of anything you want. Keep away from artificial sweeteners

TroubledLichen · 29/03/2018 22:03

Diet Coke isn’t recommended if you’re trying to lose weight as the aspartame can mess with your appetite and the bubbles can bloat you, stretching your stomach and again can leave you feeling hungrier. However, most slim people drink Diet Coke and do just fine. I’d treat it with caution. As the PP suggested maybe view it like alcohol, so don’t have it in the house but if you go out to the pub, a Diet Coke as a treat would be a good substitute for a glass of wine.

FlaminYon · 29/03/2018 22:05

Danny I don't want to hijack OP's thread but is there a blood sugar diet thread?

TalkinPeece · 29/03/2018 22:09

Thanks so much TP

Crazyladee · 30/03/2018 08:49

For me, my upcoming wedding was the kick up the arse to shift the weight.

I pictured myself walking down the aisle in a gorgeous dress and feeling wonderful. I pictured myself feeling slim and confident and feeling proud of my figure.

I didn't follow a particular diet, but I just cut out all the crap during the week, and allowed myself a treat at the weekends. I like Diet Coke too and I still drank Diet Coke as I didn't want to deprive myself and be miserable. I ramped up my fruit and vegetables and cut my portions down. I focused mainly on my diet but incorporated exercise by doing workout videos as home when my baby slept.

Downtheroadfirstonleft · 30/03/2018 10:03

Another vote for blood sugar diet, it's fab - healthy, effective and easy.

Lots of support threads for it, on here, on f@cebook and there is a 12 week online support programme that is about £99.

inthegarage · 30/03/2018 10:15

Eat less and exercise more. You cannot possibly fail.
