Just that really! I think the women - especially the one on the left - are a bit annoying. I think they could do better, really. What do you think when it pops up on your app? Realise this is v much first world problems and all that so please do take it as tongue in cheek!

The jeans are 70s flares like Charlie's Angels wore, not really meant to be "mum jeans" 😂. They'd look fucking stupid in skinnies.

Laiste · 26/03/2018 21:48

Looking at it now properly (google images!) it reminds me of a spider. And suddenly i'm struck by how all three are mums of toddlers or babies.

I've been here since ... erm 2008 i think. I've got 4 DCs ranging from 4 to 25 years old. I too think a new logo is needed.

GracefulDroid · 26/03/2018 21:58

Laiste - there's nothing to to say this isn't one family! Grandma, her two daughters and their 3 children? Or two mum friends and a teenage daughter with three siblings or babysitter the neighbours children etc?

PS I don't love the logo either

Backscratchesforever · 26/03/2018 22:02

Yeah it is cack, very dated

Laiste · 26/03/2018 22:03

That's true graceful :) I suppose that middle one could be a granny ...

i'd still like to know why i can't see it anymore!

UterusUterusGhali · 26/03/2018 23:05

I don't think skinnies were a thing when it was designed.

What are they on? A rock?

WhiteRabbitWhiteRabbit · 26/03/2018 23:09

What are they on? A rock?

Glue, I reckon. Grin

Thistlebelle · 31/03/2018 17:03

the women look a bit smug and the kids look a bit annoying

In a silhouette? Confused

Think you’re protecting Mole...

molehill79 · 01/04/2018 10:38

@Thistlebelle Do you mean projecting? Yes, maybe. But I thought a large part of branding (including logos) was to make the customer feel something towards the product or service, to evoke feelings of loyalty, pride, desire eg. The Fairy baby, the WWF panda logo etc. So is it totally bonkers that the Mumsnet logo evokes certain feelings from me eg. I find the characters annoying?!

OP posts:
iklboo · 01/04/2018 10:43

The Fairy Baby goes Ray Winstone makes me want to put the tv screen through though.

SofieMonde · 01/04/2018 11:06

They need to rebrand asap Maybe launch a comp for a MN to design a new logo?

Keilninnock · 01/04/2018 11:49

Oh. Just realised that the mug icon is the silly logo. I always thought, and accepted, it was a cannabis leaf.

MeltSnow · 01/04/2018 11:56

I have commented on the logo before. I hope I don’t get myself banned but I think the logo is awful, really, really awful. It’s so naff and dated it’s unbelievable. It’s not dated in a cool way it’s just dated.

I’d ditch it.

VanGoghsLeftEar · 01/04/2018 12:07

What about changing the name to “FamilyNet” and having a logo that represents a “family”.

(It may not be popular. Blush )

YetAnotherUser · 01/04/2018 12:08

Until recently I thought it was a crab.

Thistlebelle · 01/04/2018 14:22

Yes Mole I did mean projecting- autocorrect got me!

You find them annoying but I’m not sure I agree that there’s anything inherently annoying about the logo. It’s pretty bland IMO.

TenancyTroublesAgain · 01/04/2018 14:25

Omg, it looks like some kind of octopus / army of mothers hybrid.

BishopBrennansArse · 01/04/2018 14:27

Or this? 🦇💩

treeofhearts · 01/04/2018 14:39

The baby’s hand on the left looks a bit like a large penis

And in a rather unfortunate position too...

I can not unsee that. Does no one look over and point out these things BEFORE they use them?

frasier · 01/04/2018 14:43

It's a terrible logo. There was a thread on another forum about it a while ag but it may have been archived because I can't find it now. Several posters on thee thought it was violent, that the top child was holding a handgun, the person on the right a grenade and the baby a machine gun!

frasier · 01/04/2018 14:44

I think the original Charlie's Angel one they have tried to copy (so badly!) has guns doesn't it? It's too complicated for a tiny image on a phone or tablet...

YetAnotherSpartacus · 01/04/2018 14:57

Dope leaf. Sorry.

DadDadDad · 01/04/2018 15:52

As the MN strapline is "by parents for parents", why isn't there a man in the logo?
