This is one of my pet hates! The artist's name is Leonardo. Vinci is the town he was from - "Da Vinci" means "From Vinci". So calling him "Da Vinci" is like calling me "From Manchester"

No, it isn't. That is how he was known when he was still alive, as was the norm. He was known as "Lionardo di ser Piero da Vinci" meaning, Leonardo. son of Messer Piero from Vinci.

Your pet hate is people being referred to in the correct manner? What's that about?

If you look at Night by Michelangelo, you can see why people say they used male models!

Da Essex!
I love that though - ‘I identify as the Mona. Lisa’.

Pythone - it was looking at Night that I was told this!
