WIBU to play the French Horn at 6am tomorrow morning? (semi-joking)

Urgh. Noisy neighbours who insist on playing the same, shitty music every Friday and Saturday night very, very loudly, to the point I can hear it if I go up two storeys. Don't get me wrong, I like Bohemian Rhapsody as much as the next woman. But not every weekend, regardless of whether I want to hear it or not.

I could play a passive-aggressive game of turn the TV up to drown them out, but that keeps my toddler awake and gives me a headache.

I could go round and ask them to turn it down, but I am a pathetic and avoid situations where there might be conflict. I could send my husband around but he's not here and if he were, he's not exactly diplomatic and we have to live here alongside them going forward (both properties privately owned).

So instead, I am whinging on here and polishing up the horn. I've also got a flute but it's not loud enough......

Now, it's the Final fucking Countdown. And they're singing along.....

Do they even know you have a problem with their noise? If you don't want to confront them face to face, try dropping a note through after the next Bohemian Rhapsody play off. Keep it 'light' saying I know its the weekend but its very loud and late and it keeps my child and I awake type of thing. There is no need to go in aggressively, they may not even be aware of it.

Do it right this very second so you can blame the clock change 'of, sorry, it's earlier than I realised' it's a once in a year opportunity!

Otherwise I think you need to have a word in the first instance.

KC225 - it is quite possible they aren't aware but given we also have problems with their parking, it's probable they just don't care.

Any marching song on fife and drum. That shit is loud...

Bagpipes and enthusiastic toddler on drums a bonus.

What about herding up your friends and family for a party, and at some point do a nice rendition of We Will Rock You, the word rock replaced by a more appropriate word such as annoy? Good luck making that work!

I do the hoover against the skirting and disney films up loud on the surround sound with an added washing machine fast spin at 7am on the mornings after my neighbour has a party.

I would so love to be able to play the French horn. Play them that amazing Wagner thing.......

I'm thinking they might appreciate some Heldenleben. Or Maher 2. Make sure you aim the bell at the party wall 😀

I got both instruments out :-)

I did wait until 9am, but judging by the singing last night, I would expect the melodious sounds to have really helped the sore heads.

In all seriousness, next time it starts up, we're going to invite them around to see how loud it actually is.
