To ask what you're giving your child under 1 for dinner?

Posting here for curiosity and mainly for traffic as its my dds dinner time soon.

She has no teeth and she's 11 months and she did have some vegetables mashed with a bit of cheese. She loved it but recently she refuses it as she wants to feed herself. I'd feel a lot more comfortable if she had teeth so I find myself staring at her incase she starts choking.

I gave her some scrambled egg and some toast for breakfast this morning and she seemed okay with putting bits in her mouth (she's just figured out how to chew) but I'm totally stuck what to give her for dinner

She does have teeth - they are just hiding in her gums and those gums are capable of biting down quite hard!
I look after a nine month old with no teeth and she basically eats whatever I cook for her older brothers, just slightly adapted if it's too salty. Some ideas that I've cooked this week are;

  • salmon with sweet potato wedges and broccoli
  • mild chicken curry and rice
  • pasta with veg, pesto and grated cheese.
Lunches are things like baked potatoes, pitta bread, avocado, sandwiches.

I would recommend doing a first aid course so you are confident that you would know what to do if they choke.
