Dp not helping with dc when off work.

Dp does shifts. This week he's been off yesterday & today.

He's done nothing.Literally!

If I say anything he makes out he's tired or is just about to do something.

My sister said I'm unreasonable as they are his days off so should do as he pleases.

When do I get rest then?

How do other families manage shift work & family life?

DP obviously needs to sleep but having two days off is no different to anyone else having a weekend off

When do you get your time to do nothing OP?

Kingsclerelass · 23/03/2018 12:56

YANBU So you should do all the housework and be at your children's beck & call day and night while he spends every evening and two days a week with his feet up? Really !

I''d count his hours plus travelling time, then book an equivalent time as your "hours". If he wants anything outside of those hours, tell him no, you're tired and you've finished your shift. Smile

He slept in both days. He, work spent only earlies or middles so not rotating shifts.

Yes your right it the same as having a weekend off. But I haven't had a break, rest or lay in. Which if we were both at home at the weekend, I could have.
