I'm glad things are slightly better. As a person who is sick quite a bit, I discovered a market for emesis bags. To be honest I think they should be a staple in every home. You can get a crazy amount fairly cheap. Especially if you have kids, have some in the car, some in your essentials bag, some in the cupboards upstairs and down, plus a few in your drawers and bathroom so if you're bad again, say you have a 'both ends' situation, you literally just discard these. Fabulous idea.
I took some on a holiday years back where DC both went to a restaurant, driving back it was swervey A roads and ex drives like a JC wannabe, heard the words of doom, both kids got a bag each. Plus we had one time when there was some post cold sickness, DC after being ill was fascinated by the disposal instructions, taking their mind off the fact they'd been ill. They were able to stay in their room with an adult, over being in the bathroom.
As a seasoned pro on this subject, I'm sure if you're in the bathroom looking at the toilet, you're guaranteed to be bad. You can't take your mind off it.
One cupboard resembles a chemist with my meds, but there's also everything you'd need from a headache to sore throat spray to anti bad stomach tablets to plasters and various creams, cough syrups etc. For vomiting you can get buccastem over the counter, you dissolve it under your lip. I think it's marketed OTC for migraines. But it's meant to be good.
Hope you feel better soon OP.
If faced with it again, I keep old towels to cover pillows and mattress, then have water, polos and a sick bag or 3 near by. They do Imodium that has buscopan in to stop tummy cramps, I think they're melt in the mouth. So again you don't need to worry about it staying down.
