I work every weekend in a very physical job. DH has his parents over when I’m in work and most of the time they are there when I get home, they stay until 7pm/8pm. They normally eat out together (lunchtime)when I’m in work or have a takeaway. I then feel extremely awkward cooking for just myself when I get home or feel like I shouldn’t have to cook for everyone when I have been working all day so sit there and get more and more hangry! Ha ha. Is it very rude to eat in front of guests? DH doesn’t see its a problem.

your hungry eat theyve already eaten i wouldnt care if it looked rude i wouldnt go hungry just to look polite especially after being at work all day,

It’s rude of him not to leave or make you something when you’ve been working your arse off all day and he’s been wooping it up!

If no one’s going to be thoughtful and make you something then of course you get on with cooking and eating. It’s your house too you know.

Eat away. Or tell them to get you some takeaway to have when you get home

Apart from the use of the ridiculous word Hangry, YANBU. I'd expect enough takeaway ordered so there's some for you upon arriving home for starters.

WorraLiberty · 17/03/2018 20:22

Why doesn't he save you some takeaway, or have some dinner on for you if he's not been working?

No it's not rude in this case. Anyway, they're family, not guests.
