Be funny if you stubbed your toe again doing that Shaman recreation thing...

Dahlietta · 17/03/2018 15:45

I press down hard on it with the other foot. I wouldn't call it stamping though.

Toastedstrudel · 17/03/2018 16:42

Putting pressure on the area relieves some of the pain because you have sensory receptors that are specific for pressure, and when they start sending messages to your brain it ultimately means less info about pain is getting through. That’s why people instinctively hold or rub an injured area.

Poshjock · 17/03/2018 16:47

Toastedstrudel I was just going to post something very much like that. It is a similar process to how TENS works.

treeofhearts · 17/03/2018 17:17

I instinctively press the other foot down on it.

Notso · 17/03/2018 17:53

Surely every Mothers reflex upon witnessing a stubbed toe is to helpfully say "I told you to wear your slippers"
Or is that just my Mum and now me because I have become her Hmm

SomeKnobend · 17/03/2018 17:56

Oh yes, and if I bump my head, then I punch myself i the face. Medicinal. Hmm

Chesntoots · 17/03/2018 17:56

I've never really thought about it, but now I have I realise that I do it too...how odd!

IanRushesInadequateFlushes · 17/03/2018 17:58

Yep I press the other foot on it - not as hard a stamp though!! That would just hurt more.

abbsisspartacus · 17/03/2018 18:01

Usually I grab it impale myself on my broken nail and belt my head or other vital part of my body because I'm just clever like that
