Flicking through the local business guide/directory this two page spread caught my eye.

Please note the Letting Agent’s boast of ‘no scroats (sic)’.
Shock

Shock wth! Who okayed that?

Dangerousmonkey · 15/03/2018 14:55

Yuck. Isn't that scrotum. As in "you hairless scrote?". Classy agent there.

YesItsADebate · 15/03/2018 14:56

How about giving them a call as a prospective landlord and seeing who falls under their definition of ‘scroat’?

SomeKnobend · 15/03/2018 14:58

They seem like scrotes. Ironic.

NotAllTimsWearCapes · 15/03/2018 14:59

Well at least they’re making it very easy for decent landlords and tenant to avoid them. I wish more people were as upfront about their attitudes. Would make life a lot easier.

DGRossetti · 15/03/2018 15:11

Reminds me of Fawlty Towers ...

"No riff-raff"

NutellaFitzgerald · 15/03/2018 15:15

Outrageous. Especially as it's spelled scrotes

Eltonjohnssyrup · 15/03/2018 15:18

Oh God. I don’t think it’s going to be very successful.

JugglingMummyof2 · 15/03/2018 15:21

You don't think it could be like this misunderstanding?
Still makes me laugh after 30 years.

Pseudousername · 15/03/2018 15:25

This is hilarious.

I can only begin to imagine the calibre of landlord signing up to that agency.

NotAllTimsWearCapes · 15/03/2018 15:26

I wonder what scroats could be a misprint for? Grin goats? Square oats?

GlitterFree · 15/03/2018 15:39

Only a small leap from the 'no HB, no pet, no children, -no irish- ' that seem to be completely acceptable.

On the plus side, this advert tells you straight away how repulsive they are Grin

GlitterFree · 15/03/2018 15:39

Wow - how repulsive the agency is, I mean!

GlitterFree · 15/03/2018 15:40

seems :(

AfterSchoolWorry · 15/03/2018 15:41

Yanbu

It's spelt 'scrotes' ! 😃

ButchyRestingFace · 15/03/2018 15:42

Is it bad that the first thing I noticed was the random capitalisation of some words?

Graphista · 15/03/2018 15:44

And happy to advertise they probably act illegally too - exactly what does "zero tolerance on arrears" translate to I wonder?! Hmm

Snobbles · 15/03/2018 15:46

The random capitalisation and the spelling of scroats is most distressing.

Maybe they meant 'stoats'. They might be weaselists.

FullMetalRabbit · 15/03/2018 15:51

Exactly what I was thinking Grin

VaguelyAware · 15/03/2018 15:58

That's disgusting. If you're on Twitter / FB etc, has anyone else called them out on it yet?

4Funnels · 15/03/2018 16:02

I wouldn't use them.

I buy cheap properties in dodgy areas and look to rent them to scrotes.

OutsideContextProblem · 15/03/2018 16:03

I don’t think being a scrote is a protected characteristic (though I do suspect that they may be using it as code for things which are protected characteristics - and “working class” which isn’t).

It’s the flip side of all those rental adverts offering to let your house to tenants who are “professionals”

JugglingMummyof2 · 15/03/2018 16:09

@NotAllTimsWearCapes - I suppose it could be goats Grin
I thought maybe smokers as I cannot believe that anywhere would use the other...

KittenBeast · 15/03/2018 16:21

'higher than average rents achieved' I see, so they're in to massively ripping people off as well as having a ban on children/pets/HB/the working class/anyone with a tattoo. 'high quality tenants'? - Jesus Christ.

What a bunch of scrotes.
