Went for an interview yesterday and they rang this morning to say I did not get the job it had gone to an internal candidate.
I had to do a presentation at the interview and the person who rang me this morning who is the manager of the company has asked if they can use the presentation in training as it was brilliant.
It caught me of guard and I just spluttered and said I don’t really think so.
The manager seemed annoyed and said fine and out the phone down
AIBU to say said no and think they are cheeky fuckers. My DH who this has actually happened to before said I should have offered them use of it for a fee.
DH did this when the same happened to him, they declined and thought he would give it them for free.

It never ceases to astonish me that people moan about being unable to get jobs but they are unable to use simple grammar. Connection?

Booboobooboo84 · 14/03/2018 13:14

It’s a myth I think (happy to be corrected though) that job roles have to be advertised externally. I think most companies just do it as part of their recruitment policies. But I do think there should be a way for people to progress internally in that manner. Couldn’t they just have promoted the internal applicant?

Booboobooboo84 · 14/03/2018 13:16

@whatshallidonowpeople it always amazes me how people can see a poster who is having a rough day and then thinks to themselves how can I make it just that little bit shittier?- I know I’ll make snippy comments about their grammar without any knowledge of their spelling and grammar ability, their tech ability, the fact that autocorrect may have made an adjustment. So why do people like you do that then?

Bluelady · 14/03/2018 13:18

It never ceases to amaze me how rude people are on MN about trivia.

Namechangetempissue · 14/03/2018 14:47

If you are "astonished" by a simple spelling or grammatical error, possibly made by autocorrect or a slipped finger while typing, then you need to get out a bit more. HTH.

YANBU Cheeky Fuckers indeed! I'd have just laughed down the phone at them.

I think freelance/consulting on disability awareness would definitely be marketable!

Considering the OP has up to 15 seizures a day the most probably connection is her significant medical condition. Hmm

Whatshallidonowpeople
Yes quite often my grammar and spelling are affected by my seizures and I also have dyslexia so thanks a lot for that made me feel great
But hey at least I don’t judge people I have never met by a grammar mistake

Well done on having produced what sounds like a really good presentation.
You could tell them you're really pleased they received it so positively, but given that it's an original piece of work, you can't agree to sharing it as you are likely to use it for future employment opportunities/ interviews and therefore won't be in a position to share.
