He really does look a state, why does he not comb it at least?

I can't stand the man. However I don't give a fig about his hair. It is the least bad thing about him.

SwanneeKazoo · 13/03/2018 13:26

He is trying quite hard not to show that he is actually very clever

PMSL, he is doing this extremely well - posh voice + expensive education does not equal either clever or intelligent.

HollyBayTree · 13/03/2018 13:27

are you honestly suggesting that women come under less fire for their appearance than men??!

Ther was me thinking I was implying we are all mature enough to NOT criticise someone for weight/hair/colour/aesthetic irrespective of gender - but I can see I was wrong.

Thehamsterspajamas · 13/03/2018 13:31

He is trying quite hard to show he isn’t clever

It’s clearly working because he’s doing an excellent job of showing he’s got the diplomacy and insight of a 2 year old.

peachgreen · 13/03/2018 13:36

I know someone who worked for him for a long time and everything - from the hair to the bike-riding to his numerous "gaffes" - is all carefully calculated as PPs have said.

Sweetpea55 · 13/03/2018 13:40

I don't think that he has much control over it,,Maybe he's not keen on hairgel.

Some ladies cultivate the wild gypsyish look but Iv never known a man to.

pawpatrolearworm · 13/03/2018 13:56

Cos he doesn't want to, and it doesn't make the slightest difference to anything or anyone?

bobstersmum · 13/03/2018 15:00

For goodness sake I'm hardly body shaming, it's something he could do something about if he wanted, it's not like he's stuck with crazy hair, he does it on purpose so it seems! So that's my answer, he doesn't tidy up his hair because he doesn't want to. So good for him then.

OP posts:
SilverySurfer · 13/03/2018 15:17

I'm taking a wild guess it's because he doesn't want to. His hair, his choice, what the fuck has it to do with anyone else?

Unfinishedkitchen · 13/03/2018 15:49

Trying hard not to look clever my arse. Reciting some Latin and poetry remembered from school in a posh voice does not make you clever. What he is is manipulative and highly ambitious, not clever.

What he does realise though is that much of the British public has been socially conditioned over centuries to be professional forelock tuggers who will immediately be impressed when confronted with someone combining overconfidence with a posh voice.

I do think his bumbling toff look is part of his carefully crafted brand though.

cucaracha · 13/03/2018 18:19

read his CV, read his columns and listen to his interviews, Boris might like to behave like a buffoon, but he is actually very smart. He might not have anticipated the way the vote would go on Brexit, but he is far from stupid.

If he was "only" posh, he wouldn't have gone that far and be so popular. You or I might not like him ,but he is popular.

ForalltheSaints · 13/03/2018 18:22

He can be as scruffy as he likes as long as he is sacked from the cabinet and loses his seat at the next general election.

BalloonSlayer · 13/03/2018 18:29

I saw a programme once that analysed his body language. As soon as a woman comes anywhere near him he ruffles his hair to draw attention to it. It's really funny when you watch it. It's like a peacock and its tail. His hair colour is the only attractive thing about him; that's why he makes it as big a feature as possible and displays it to females at every opportunity.

Guffaw at all the "Doesn't think hair is important" and "doesn't care what he looks like" posts.

Unfinishedkitchen · 13/03/2018 18:36

He is not stupid but neither is he particularly smart. What carries him through is his confidence, sense of entitlement and ruthlessness. I’ve worked with people like him and have seen nothing from him to suggest he is of above average intelligence. He just had expensive schooling and that impresses some people.

Sparklesocks · 13/03/2018 18:38

There does seem to be a lot of very rich/posh people who don’t seem to notice/care about their appearances...very old money Smile

JustHooking · 13/03/2018 18:38

He cultivates that look. Haven't you noticed him constantly ruffling his hair to keep it like that
It's so he appears boyish and harmless when in reality he is causing a great deal of harm with his big mouth and his ideas

Eltonjohnssyrup · 13/03/2018 18:39

He’s always cycling so it’s windswept. He once leered at me from his bike when I was waiting for a bus.

JustHooking · 13/03/2018 18:42

Of course he knows it looks like that
He never leaves it alone. It is not an accident

CadyHeron · 13/03/2018 19:22

He really does look a state, why does he not comb it at least?

Because he doesn't want to? What's his hair got to do with anyone else?
Mine's looking unbrushed. Good job I'm not in the public eye, ey, otherwise I'd probably get "why doesn't she just comb it at least?"

MissBartlettsconscience · 13/03/2018 19:52

A friend knew him when he was mayor of London. He deliberately messes it up before going anywhere there might be a camera to create 'Boris'. It's part of an entirely constructed persona.

AnyFucker · 13/03/2018 19:57

It takes a lot of effort to look that messy

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 13/03/2018 20:08

Boris isn’t even his first name. His family call him Alex.

SkaPunkPrincess · 13/03/2018 21:04

Because he fucking well likes it how it is?
