My mother is obsessed with this! If you have a slightly trailing lace you must sort it out straight away lest it trip you up and break every bone in your body.

I have never, in almost 45 years on this planet, seen or heard of anyone tripping over as a result of an undone shoe lace!

AIBU to think that this is "a swans wing can break your arm" and "going out with wet hair gives you flu" territory?!

Rode into the car park next to my house, went to put my left foot down, as per. Moment of confusion as foot won't come off the footage, followed by a crash as the 'bike and i land in a heap. Trying to extricate yourself from under a motorbike when you've got a bootlace caught round the footage, and the exhaust on your leg; is very amusing to bystanders ,eastwards.

Bastards, not eastwards ffs!

My son did this yesterday. Properly on the floor and managed to hit a car on the way down and ended up rolling on his back?! I had to try really hard not to laugh

lakeshoreliving · 12/03/2018 16:38

Yes my DS.

TheHodgeoftheHedge · 12/03/2018 16:40

Yep! Done it and broke my ankle!

NameChangeDestroyer · 12/03/2018 16:46

When I was 9 my lace got stuck in a travelator at asda and I tripped and it fucking hurt.

Coconuthusk · 12/03/2018 16:51

I have.
I've also slipped on a banana skin.
I've yet to be tricked by a cunning blue ostrich though.

sausagedogsmakechipolatas · 12/03/2018 16:55

I tripped over mine a few weeks ago when loading stuff into the car boot. Went to turn around, stood on my undone laces and did a full body comedy fall onto the pavement outside my house.

I've also slipped on a banana skin.

Ok, as per my PP I am happy to admit I am wrong about the shoe lace thing, but that I simply do not believe! How did you manage that?!

And its a road runner Wink but tbh you need to be more careful of anvils falling on you or boxes with sticks of dynamite poking out and ACME printed on the side :o

Swans can break your arm!!! And you can trip up on shoelaces!!! You can't get flu from wet hair though.

Glumglowworm · 12/03/2018 18:36

I have a pair of shoes with laces that just don’t stay tied! I tie them the same way I’ve been tying shoes for over 25 years, but even double or triple knotted they come undone. And I can’t wear them around one friend because she comments on them every single time!

Somewhat hypocritically, I do tell my Brownies to tie loose laces. But they run around more than I do!

NotTheNineInchNails · 12/03/2018 18:43

I've done it. And also got mine caught in escalator steps which was quite scary!

Anniegetyourgun · 12/03/2018 18:47

THEY LAUGHED AT ME!

TenancyTroublesAgain · 12/03/2018 18:52

Of course it happens!
