Help me find this place in north wales.

As children we used to go chirk alot and on the way back we would visit a lake? a pond? a river? a fishery? and have a paddle. I have googled all morning and rung family members and still no luck.

It was like a pool top with very distinctive waterfall in the shape of wide 2 or 3 stairs ending into a little river section?

Does anybody have any clue its driving me potty. Its not swallow falls or any of the more popular falls in northwales. It was more man made looking.....

nope none of them. You can paddle and swim at the top its s bit like a pool not so much at the bottom then three i think wide step waterfall looks like a set of stairs. I will try find a picture I must have one somewhere.

Devils Gorge?

I know its a crap pic and not very identifiable but this is the place. That is the side its a sloped section with smaller steps i forgotten about but next to them to the left thats where the big three step water fall that looked like s stair case is. At the top of that slope was the pool bit you could swim and paddle in.

The ford at worlds end?

Looks like loggerheads country park maybe?

Ty mawr or alyn Waters? Both closer to Wrexham than chirk but in the same area.

I'm glad you found it! When I was little we holidayed on the North Wales coast and always stopped at 'the Grand Canyon' for a picnic and runaround halfway there. It was a highlight and much anticipated. Years later, I found it, and it was .... a lay-by. My dad had a vivid imagination..

I was thinking dyserth too. I don’t know of any others.
