to think a toaster should toast all the slice of bread - not 75% !

I bought a cheap toaster from Currys last year ... like £3.98 cheap!
Unfortunately it doesn't toast all the slice of bread (from a standard loaf) ... it does about 75%.
A lot of the cheap toasters seem to have the same problem.
Where can I get a cheap toaster that will toast all the slice of bread?

a) Buy half sized loafs of bread.
b) If you have to buy regular sized bread, cut the slice in half and toast it as two halves.

Wow. I have just learned that I don't know how to use a toaster.

Many years ago I read/saw something which explained why virtually all toasters on the market will not toast the whole of a slice of bread. Apparently British bread has bigger (taller?) slices than most countries bread, and since nearly all toasters are made to be sold in more than one country, they don't fit British bread. The only exception at that time was one toaster made by Phillips.

EU health &safety regulations require 12.5% of each slice of bread is left untoasted, so you dont burn your hand when picking up hot toast. And that is why we are leaving the EU.

I bought a new toaster as had the same problem. Shelled out decent money for it. Guess what......same thing happens!! Yip I now know you have to put the bread in sideways - and it's a bit of a squash sometimes but still toasts correctly and pops out fine. Try it sideways.

For the 17th time it won't fit sideways!!!
