That I didn't know about Ocado's food bank donation feature

I'm kicking myself as I've been shopping with Ocado for years, but only just discovered that you can add food bank vouchers to your order. And that Ocado say they'll match your donation.

I could have been donating to a food bank with EVERY order. Sob. I feel like a muppet for not knowing this!

I've donated to the Trussell Trust as a way of supporting food banks, but this is such an easy way of doing it on an ongoing basis, especially if Ocado match the donation. I could add a fiver or tenner every weekly shop, which would make a small difference to my weekly expenditure, but would rack up over the course of a year.

AIBU to feel clueless for only just discovering this option. And AIBU to think Ocado should publicise it more?

Thanks for clarifying the mechanism of the scheme - that's reassuring to know

I can understand why Ocado don't want to publicise the scheme too much if they match every donation, but it does seem a shame that it seems I'm not the only person who wasn't aware of it, but who'd be very keen to support it

Five years ago before there were many food banks I worked for one in Essex. Ocado was fantastic and every week would allow us to take up a transit van and fill it with returned orders for free. The only agreement was we had to stay quiet about who had donated the food. I became a loyal Ocado customer that day. Week in, week out they donated thousands of pounds worth of food, nappies, wet wipes which were all freely distributed. They still do this in addition to the voucher scheme. They have helped many homeless and low income families and people in Essex and don't make a big deal about it.

I do this every week, but I can’t remember how I came across it. Agree it is not at all well publicised.
