To block dc father

CollyWombles · 09/03/2018 19:14

So tonight I was on the house phone, trying to sort out an issue with talktalk, over two hours! During which the dc father called me a grand total of six times, one after the other. He then left a voicemail. When I finally got of the phone, I listened to the voicemail and he was just ranting at me and telling me 'to pick up my phone'

He then called my daughter who won't speak to him just now and because she didn't answer, he text her saying Thank you, love you 2! She is twelve years old.

This isn't the first time he phones me repeatedly and demands I answer, which I don't, so I text him my email address in case of emergency with dc and blocked him from my phone.

AIBU?

(Huge massive horrible back story, probably make for a ten page essay so I'll spare you that)

Keep him blocked

HoneyBadgerApparently · 09/03/2018 19:18

Sounds controlling and abusive. Keep him blocked and keep a record. Well done for keeping your cool Flowers

LeighaJ · 09/03/2018 19:20

Keep him blocked, he has the email in case of an emergency with your daughter although doesn't sound like that's even needed right now since she doesn't want to talk to him either.

CollyWombles · 09/03/2018 19:26

There are 4dc and he is not seeing any of them (that massive back story I don't want to write an essay on). I'm asking because I am expecting an email with all the 'reasons I'm being unreasonable' in it so wanted some opinions in case there is something I haven't considered when blocking him.

Do it! I blocked my ex about 4 years ago, best thing I ever did and wish I'd done it years ago! Let him contact DC direct.

RandomMess · 09/03/2018 19:50

YANBU!!!

DalekDalekDalek · 09/03/2018 19:59

Does he ever look after your DD? If so then maybe blocking him would be a bad idea, what if he tried to get in touch with you because she was sick or had an accident or something?

Otherwise, yes, blocking him sounds entirely reasonable. Just remember if you do that he wouldn't be able to get in contact if he genuinely needed to and it was something you would want to know.

CollyWombles · 09/03/2018 20:14

@DalekDalekDalek he doesn't look after any of the DC. I won't allow it.

Definitely block. What a needy whiny pig!
People tantrumming over "ignored" phones are a personal gripe.

CollyWombles · 09/03/2018 20:20

@Oooeeeerrrrrindeed it gets my hackles right up coming from him. We are divorced 6 years now, I am remarried and he thinks he can still order me about. Demanding I answer and calling repeatedly because how dare I ignore him. I've wanted to block him for ages but always felt I shouldn't because of dc.

he doesn't look after any of the DC. I won't allow it.

Definitely block him then. You shouldn't have to put up with that abuse!
