Need urgent advice regarding toilet training

Hi, I would like to stress that this is a genuine post and I am not a poo troll! I am at my wits end today and need advice before I ruin all of our progress. I genuinely do not know what to do next.

I started toilet training My 2 yr 10 month old on Thursday and she took to it brilliantly. Dry pants after the first two accidents but last night and today is withholding poo. She is constantly crying today, getting pains but will not do it in the toilet. I was supposed to leave the house today and had to cancel. I also have a five month old who is basically abandoned today, I even gave him a bottle in the bathroom.

I have sat with her, encouraged, read stories let her watch spot the dog video while she tried. I have offered rewards for a poo etc

It has taken me two hours to write this in amongst all the crying from both. Please help how can I get her to go

Thank you all for the replies. The bubbles worked a treat and got her to go! I will take on board the opinions about her not being ready and chat with DH tonight.

She has loved not being in nappies during the day and was really getting into the swing of doing the wees. Today knocked me sideways more than anything.

Thanks again it was all really appreciated 🌸Flowers

Glad to see the bubbles work. It is strange but it's something about the blowing which releases the required muscles. My little boy knows to 'blow' when he needs to poo. I have even on occasion been known to use this technique myself!

Sounds like you might be sorted but if not one to try is putting the nappy in the potty, almost like a liner and letting her sit on it. It’s like a halfway house - still using a potty like a big girl but with the comfort of the nappy there as well - works for lots of kids.

No good until one appears in the potty but what worked absolute wonders for ds (3.10)was taking a pic on my phone of the first poo he did on the potty!! He showed his siblings and was sooooo proud!! Every time after that on the potty!! He had no issue moving swiftly to the toilet either. Flushing them away was such a thrill it seemed!!
Sorry for tmi!!
