along with mcdonnell, landsman and watson in support of womens equality of the labour party. twitter.com/jeremycorbyn/status/971823982902218752
although there is next to no chance labour will elect a female leader as they have not yet and have had 10 elections since thatcher was elected as tory leader which assuming labour do not elect based on gender is a less than 1 percent chance.
in fact the best a female candidate has done is 3rd beckett in 1994 with 19 percent and cooper in 2015 with 17 percent.

Opinionated- that’s a strange logic. What would guarantee he would be replaced by a woman? Scottish Labour have quite a few female leaders btw so goes to show that the party does support female leaders.

if you read my post you would realise i said there would be a next to no chance but if he wanted pay equality he would as the leader of the opposition is the only shadow cabinet member to get paid more. however i think Scottish labour party has had 2 female leaders and 1 acting and it tells you the scottish labour party is not as sexist as the full labour party although they are not separate things.
How do you think the leader of the Labour Party should be chosen?
well they should be elected but i guess the electorate is systemically sexist so in a sense corbyn is more the symptom of the problem rather than the problem.

Maybe treating Jennifer James and Linda Bellos like shit doesn't sit well with me.

Maybe because I think safe spaces for women should be kept for natal women.

Maybe because I don't need a man telling me I am doing feminism wrong

Maybe because I don't believe in the Emperor's New Clothes.

Oh shut up. He relentlessly supports the rights of women (and everybody else for that matter).

Tory’s admitted to paying people to be negative towards Corbyn/Labour (but especially Corbyn) online - so honestly when I see people bashing him now it just makes me laugh.

Tory’s are scared of a man who’s been saying the same stuff since before I was born, he’s just gained support now. He doesn’t change his mind, he’s stable and sane and the Tory’s hate that.

HaroldsSoCalledBluetits · 08/03/2018 21:19

He relentlessly supports the rights of men who dress up as women. Actual women, not so much.

I support Jeremy Corbyn as leader of the Labour Party because he is the best person god the job, his sex is irrelevant to me

so your admitting the best person could not win an election
and more to the point 10 elections since thatcher was elected every single time a male was elected thats a less than 1 percent chance of happening

I’m admitting nothing of the sort, he is perfectly capable of winning the next general election and I’ll be behind him all the way

when was the last time a leader lost their first election and won their second?

Whilst I agree it’s shameful that the Labour Party has never elected a female leader, particularly given that there is always a much higher proportion of female MPs in Labour, I think there’s reason to be optimistic that the profound change to the party’s leadership election system in 2015 willl see this change in the not-to-distant future.

Although that does rely on people voting.

I totally accept that Corbyn is not beyond criticism and neither are the labour party and neither are any politicians but I do sometimes wonder whether people just find excuses to bash him because he is labour party leader and they don't support the labour party and in fact are alarmed at the prospect of a labour government.

InHibernationTilISummer · 08/03/2018 22:04

The Labour Party I know is full of strong, opinionated women.

Not for much longer once the party's finished its purge of women who dare to have an opinion:

Funnily enough, Labour men seem to be able to get away with pretty much anything (including referring to women as 'c*nts' and 'bitches').

The Labour Party I know is full of strong, opinionated women

As long as their opinions align with Corbyn/MacDonnell/Momentum....

Any opinions outwith (e.g Trans agenda) they are silenced and sidelined. If people can't see that then they are naive at best.
