To send my daughter to pre school on her birthday

My daughter turns 4 on Monday and we are having a birthday party for her on Saturday. It's going to be the whole nine yard....hall, bouncy castle, cake, piñata, music, about 25 kids. After the cost of the party we can't really afford to take her anywhere like the zoo etc on her actual birthday. AIBU to send her to pre school and spend the day recovering? She loves preschool and they are having a tea party and games any way, but I feel like I'm being a horrible parent sending her in on her birthday.

Party sounds entirely normal; she and her friends will love it.

I’d send her to pre-school. A break from the routine might cause you problems. (I’m still suffering from the snow disruption).

Absolutely fine to send her.

My son’s childminder would ask whether he would be attending on his birthday, the first time she asked I was a bit surprised and felt bad for saying ‘yes he will be attending as usual!’ But it turned out his CM wanted to be sure to plan something special for him on the day 💖
Birthdays are exciting regardless of where you are, and she will love her party. We’ve had parties of that size for my son since he was two, we all enjoy it!

I'm another unknowing oligarch! I'll just enjoy that for a minute...
It's a very normal 4 year old party. Especially for people who have a largish number of friends and enjoy getting together with them and their children. But each to their own..

I work in a preschool and it's quite common for the children to come in for their birthdays! We always make a big fuss, have a little pretend cake they blow the candles out on and we sing to them at register time!

she and her little friends can discuss the party at school on the Monday

Of course she should go.... With a badge and cake to share with friends, if that's allowed. She will love the fuss.
