To feel I will never regain my body?

I have 2 DCs youngest is only a few months old. We've decided to stick to 2 so we won't be having any more.

I've been looking into trying to get back into my pre DC shape and get my old body back as I really don't feel confident as I am right now. But I've come to realise it will be impossible to fully achieve that.

Im not overweight at the moment I'm a size 12 but not toned at all, thanks to BFing my boobs are now saggy - I can't imagine exercise fixes that, and despite my best efforts I'm riddled with stretch marks. My stomach all around the belly button and down looks like it's been attacked by a pack of feral cats, it's even worse around my sides and on the inside of my legs, and worst of all my belly button has gone all soft and wrinkled.

AIBU to think no matter how much exercise I do and how toned I manage to get I'll never get rid of my saggy boobs and weird belly button?
For some reason up to now I always thought I'd be able to get back to "me" again after DCs but it's impossible isn't it Sad

It mightn't be exactly the same but you can still get toned and strong and fit. You have to be realistic though and give it way more time. It's really early days for you.

Perhaps not back to perfect skin flat belly but you can definitely get nearly there. Try not to get down, don't write yourself off yet.

Watching with interest ... pregnant with no 1, put on loads of weight, cellulite down to my knees, stretch marks over my arse....
I liked my pre-pregnancy body Sad

There may be parts of you that are not quite the same, stretch marks will fade over time though, so don't write things off just yet. It's good that you want to be fit and healthy, but make sure you put some time into embracing your body as it is, it's done amazing things!

Thanks.

I just know that even if I tone up I'll never feel the way I used to in a bikini again, I'll be thinking about the stretch marks (and they are REALLY bad, like craters) and the obvious general post pregnancy appearance of my whole belly area.

I would have loved to be one of those lucky ladies who you'd never guess have had babies as they've never had any stretch marks etc.
I know there's bigger things to worry about I guess I'm just a bit down in the dumps about the realisation though...

If it helps, everyone has body hang ups and are mostly far too self absorbed in their own issues to notice anyone else’s. I know I don’t notice or care. I know my DH doesn’t care, he’s far too busy sucking in his dad bod to notice.

I now have excess skin and stretch marks after having my kids. Nothing I can about it whatsoever.

It is crap.

You might get back to your old shape, don't lose hope! I put on a lot of weight during pregnancy (about 60% of my original weight Shock) but was back to pre pregnancy size by a year post partum. I'm not quite as toned but not far off. And mainly because I just don't have as much time to exercise. I had split stomach muscles, huge thighs, bingo wings etc. All ok now! You are still early days. Did you get back to normal (for you) between your two children?

Bodicea · 07/03/2018 19:11

Took me over a year to get back to my pre pregnancy weight after my second. Everything went back to normal pretty much apart from my tum which had more of a paunch but did have a section. Boobs were nit far off Pre pregmancy boobs, but as they have always been quite large they have never been what you would call perky but they are still quite full. You need to give it more time.
