Ordered Chinese take-out from the local restaurant. Yummy food and gluten free options.

I asked for the crispy duck pancakes to come with the gluten free option thinking it would be gluten free pancakes...nope it’s lettuce!

Nice, fresh lettuce but not pancakes!

In a McDonald's in Ireland, I ordered a "meat-free big mac". It was a bun with some salad and sauces!

I’ve just spent half an hour trying to rescue one neighbours escaped ducklings from another neighbours cat... I’ve gone off duck for tonight!

Also yes to pp who said Five Guys lettuce wraps are good! I had one for lunch today in fact and it was delicious!

It’s a proper restaurant not just a take-away. I live in the West Country and this place has really good reviews. Don’t want to out myself

An oriental restaurant I used to visit regularly offered crispy duck with pancakes and crispy lamb with lettuce - it was a surprise the first time I saw the lettuce but it was lovely!
When I have a cheeseburger in my local pub, I usually ask for it without the bun as that I never eat the bread and it's a waste - after reading about the places that offer lettuce as a bread-substitute, I might ask if I can have iceberg lettuce round my burger, it sounds rather nice.

I love pancakes, lettuce is a far cry from them. At least now we all know not to order the gluten free option of duck pancakes. 😅

Many years ago, we had that in a Chinese restaurant. I actually prefer it. The lettuce cuts right theough the sweet of the sauce and the richness of the duck.
