Consultant for pre pregnancy reassurance

Posting here as not sure where else to. I have 2 children and had medically difficult pregnancies with both, the second one risked my health too and baby came at 35 weeks. I've had to do years and years of IVF to get my children. I have embryos in the freezer and want to try for another. I'd like to speak to a consultant about the problems I had with my second pregnancy and babies prematurity to understand what risk I would be taking. Me and both children are now fine. I'm near Newbury. Anyone recommend a consultant?

Can you ask for birth reflection from NHS it do you specifically want a private consultant?

I did have the birth reflection after my first child. It's more that with the first I had pre eclampsia then with the second gestational diabetes and very very bad obstetric cholestasis where my health was also at risk. I'm on drugs for an immune disease and I want to know if they are the problem. Baby was early at 35 weeks and in NICU for a while. I'm terrified next baby could come much earlier and my liver might not recover. Also I'd need IVF to try to get pregnant so don't want to put us all through that if risks are too much. Just want an expert in all that to talk to really to help me decide whether to go forward. None of the NHS docs I've seen during pregnancy and birth are what I'm after really although they have been very good.i know no one can say it will all be ok.

If it is about the your immune disorder and the medication you take for that then maybe speak to your consultant.

Definitely have a birth reflections sessions and specifically ask if your immune condition/ medication caused the problems - make sure you are going to ask this in advance in cause they need to research. Ask about future pregnancy and risks.

It sounds like you are looking for reassurances that no doctor can give.

Could you get to London, OP? I think the foetal medical centre on Harley street is excellent; you could call and see if they have anyone whom you could see for your specific issues?

(It's also nice in that they put the profits back into researching fertility and premature births etc)

The fetal medicine unit at the John Radcliffe in Oxford are very good. As you are in the area, could you ask for a referral there. They certainly used to do pre-conception discussions, but I wouldn't want to say 100% that they still do.
