Posting her for traffic...sue me. Grin

We're in Australia....DD didn't want a party and eventually decided last minute to have a sleepover with her best mates.

There will be 4 girls including DD....they're coming straight after school on Friday. What can we do?

They will probably play in the garden a bit....DH is off and could take them to the beach....in the evening, is it enough to let them watch films and eat crap? Or should I arrange some kind of activity/game?

They're all nuts enough and probably won't need much excuse for getting hyper! Hmm

Have them make their own pizzas or something, with lots of different toppings etc.

movies and popcorn are standard and always fun!

My DD recently had a sleepover for her 11th birthday.

We went to AquaSplash for a late afternoon session (we’re also in Aus) then home for pizza + birthday cake. Then we set them up with s bunch of films on DVD and popcorn and left them to it. I think there were midnight makeovers at one point..

In the morning we did homemade waffles then a swim at the beach before they were picked up at 11 Smile

They all groaned when their parents showed up so they must’ve enjoyed themselves!

At that age I think let them decide, but films & treats could be good.

Oh good! Seems I'm on the right track with the benign neglect then! :D I might do something like get them all a bit of a sleepover "pack" with some cute bits and bobs in it...and leave them to their movies and popcorn!

I did this for my DD about 3 years ago. 5 of them all 10.
Arrived 4pm Saturday.
homemade pizzas were made then as they cooked they played a new board game.
After pizza I did a nail salon for them (so mini manicures, they loved it).
Then they had ice- cream and a film.
Bed by 10pm with a midnight feast at midnight.
Up quite late with pancakes, yoghurt and fruit.

I’d definitely take them to the beach to run off a bit of over excited energy then films and popcorn is fine. We did decorating some cupcakes to have as part of a midnight feast which went down well.

At DD's 10th we did make your own pizzas and decorate your own biscuits.

We also (but didn't play them alll) had a number of "silly" games in our back pocket - various games with balloons, dress each other up as mummies using toilet paper, chocolate game, pass the parcel with forfeits, scavenger hunt with clues to work out etc.

We used the film as a bribe to get them i nto PJs and sleeping bags :)

I always hate the idea of letting them bake or make pizza because the bloody mess is awful!

maddie nail salon sounds good though! I could get some little transfers and gems and a few cheap nail polishes couldn't I? Get them to soak their fingers in warm water etc first....then tidy them up and paint them.

Maybe I should blinking get my older DD and HER mate to do that. I might offer to pay them....they could get up quite a little business couldn't they?

Home made pizza. Pass the parcel still went down well until mid teens! Pencil case or stationary prize or cheap costume jewellery/earrings prize plus sweets in the layers.

We had disco lights one year which they enjoyed.

Films and popcorn.

Pancakes in the morning.

I bought some cheep white pillowcases and fabric markers, kept them busy for ages and solved the party bag issue too.

Don't forget to put a piece of card inside to stop the ink bleeding through to the back layer, and depending on the markers you might need to iron them to fix the ink.

AjasLipstick · 06/03/2018 23:23

That sounds good Giggling. I like that idea. They're all pretty crafty and would enjoy that I think.
