To be glad to be getting back to normal?

We have had the snow really bad where we are (as have lots of people). Lots of road closures, the school I teach at closed from Wed-Fri, as was DS preschool. Our tiny, country lane has had several 6ft drifts so completely impassable meaning we have been stuck in for 4 days.

Finally, today, the lane has been cleared and the main roads are now fine thanks to put fabulous local police, mountain rescue and farmers.

Schools are re-opening tomorrow so I am back at work and DS is back at preschool and I am so glad to be back to normal! It's been ok at home but it's hard being so out of the normal routine of things.

Anyone else getting back to normal and glad?

Yes me, I started a uni placement last week and have loads of tasks to do and it was closed 3 days last week. I really like the place and was a bit gutted I've missed 3 days

Yes, I am definitely looking forward to going back to work tomorrow! Some of the bus services are still off, so may have to walk but I am determined to get there. Staying in, having nothing to do or places to go is driving me barmy!

Me too. We're in central London so not anything like as badly hit as other places but still unbelievably cold, schools shutting early every day, supermarkets not getting deliveries. It was fine for a few days and we'd have survived more but I wasn't sorry to wake up this morning and find it all gone!! However the DCs loved it all and I did enjoy seeing snow in London for a change.

YANBU. I don't live in such an isolated place as you so the snow was more fun than worrying for us, but it lasted exactly the right amount of time as far as I was concerned - enough to go sledging and for some romantic walks, not enough for us to run out of food or get bored.

Yes, definitely! All our public transport is back on and nurseries open again tomorrow. As long as I can get some bread on the nursery run I'll be truly back to normal Grin

i'm glad also. I'm always a little nervous during heavy snowfalls, knowing that normal services are disrupte. I want the docs to enjoy the snow and go sledging, but am always relieved when they are safely home, knowing that it would be difficult to get to hospital (and the hospial may be short of staff).

I can't believe how quickly the snow has melted, considering how much snow we got. On Friday, the pavemennts were solid ice, now they are almost all clear.

There is more snow forecast next weekend. Don't think it's going to warm up properly until mid April!

Yes. Got cabin fever now. And DH is self employed so has lost 3 days pay. Kind of worried about the ice though.
