Well, it's not being laid down as absolute fact, more a possible avenue of interpretations. Interpretation of dreams is not about discovering concrete truths, but about getting to know yourself a bit better. If you know what you're anxious about, you can do something to fix it or try to come to terms with not being able to fix it. And we do tend to dream about our worries (SO many teachers dream of lessons going awry in the few days before term starts).
So @Laiste's scary neglected kitchen could represent a number of different things, but only Laiste will know which might make most sense to her.
Maybe the kitchen represents creativity - possibly she feels stuck in a repetitive routine.
Maybe it represents the domestic sphere in general - perhaps she feels like she WOH too much and wants to spend more effort/attention/time with family.
OR potentially the kitchen itself could represent a place of work, and Laiste might feel she is neglecting her career. Or be worried that her career is stagnating.
Or you can flip the scenario - maybe it is not Laiste neglecting her work, but her workplace (or any of the above) neglecting her.
Or maybe IRL Laiste has a dirty kitchen...
Dream interpretation is usually easier when you have some context of what is going on in the person's life - helps to see where their anxieties might lie. Otherwise it is very much pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey. Still fun though :)
