To be embarrassed about neighbour noise

I get on with my neighbour, well to the extent to say hello to each other, but she is constantly banging her internal doors.. The walls are paper thin so it’s not something I feel I should raise with her as its likely classed as every day noise and our insulation is shite. She has a dog which she likes to keep contained in the room she is in, so it doesn’t trash the house, hence all the doors closing constantly when she is in.
However I’m embarrassed by how noisy she is and it’s actually putting me off inviting people round, including the guy I’ve just started seeing. I’ve been planning him coming over for when i know she is at work so he doesn’t think WTF Confused
I know I need to get over this, and if there’s noise while he is round just style it out and say “urgh paper thin walls here....”
he has a huge, detached house in the middle of nowhere and I just feel like I’ll be judged for some reason Confused
I think I KNOW IABU, but how can be less anxious about inviting him round Confused

Relax! You'll probably both end up giggling at it when he comes round.

Does music muffle it a bit?

If he judges you based on your neighbours noise, he isn't nice enough to be with anyway.

Don't let this pit you off, he really shouldn't have much of an opinion on it?! If you're worried play background "rain" from YouTube to blank it out

Apparently putting furniture or book shelves on the party wall helps absorb some noise. Slamming doors isn't classed as normal level noise so worth a talk to next door.
