One of these from Early Learning Centre from my aunt for Christmas.

I was at university at the time, and for years had made my own cards. (I was no professional, but I made nice cards including Christmas cards, birthday cards, and all my wedding stationary a few years later, as well as wedding invitations for a few friends too.) My style was very definitely on the minimalist side, with muted colours.

My older sister also made her own cards - very similar style to mine and we often shared craft items we had found in nice wee shops in our university towns.

The gift tag on the present said something along the lines of: "to help you make nice cards like your sister." Even my mum, who would win Olympic gold for putting people down, was Shock at that one. Needless to say it didn't come back to university with me and I think my mum donated it to the mum's & tots group at her church.

A hair bobble. With massive orange plastic cubes attached from my Nan.

For my 21st.

But along with a leather bound 5 year diary. With half the pages missing.

OH did buy me an extension shoe horn one valentines, but to his credit I was 7 months pregnant!

A blouse and skirt combo when I was 15. It was brushed nylon, with a shirt style top and drindl skirt in burgundy with a small cream flower pattern. In 1984. I was was wearing a black sweater dress with green nail varnish and spiky hair. I made such a good job of preteding I liked it that my sister thought I'd gone mad.

I also got a pair of pale blue Thinsulate bootie style slippers from a beau one Christmas. That was the beginning of the end. I recently saw him in the street and he asked me back for "coffee." His face when I said no and walked off! Bellend.

An old mobile phone with the battery taken out and no sim. Apparently a lot of thought went into itHmm

My best friend once gave me a row of 4 green plastic frogs with erect willies to hang your stuff on. I couldn’t face giving it to the charity shop, went straight in the bin.

Two come to mind. The first was an indoor water feature. It was like an outdoor one but tiny, with a little pump. I can't think of anything worse than having the constant sound of running water in your house all the time, I would think it was a leak somewhere.
The second only became apparent a long time after. I was given an antique wooden rectangular bowl, the kind the looks like a bit of hollowed out tree trunk. It was massive and I didn't have a suitable surface for it, so it ended up in the bottom of my pine wardrobe. Then some years later I put it in the attic. We were clearing the attic and I came across it and brought it into the light. It was riddled with woodworm! I banged it on the ground outside and live beetles fell out. I checked my wardrobe and that too was riddled with woodworm. I had to chuck the wardrobe and we are keeping a close eye on the attic as we will probably need to get it treated as a precautionary measure. The worm can only have come from this bowl as the house is not very old and my wardrobe was new.
The bowl went to the tip
