Finishing school early for snow - central London

We live in Zone 2. Most children live within a 500 m radius of the school. It's cold but we have no more than a dusting. All transport running and roads and pavements fine (and I have mobility issues). School closed early today because of snow because of others schools closing and so teachers needing to get their children. Not all the teachers are parents by any stretch ( would say about 25%) and even so surely they could just rejig classes a bit. At the first sight of snow (a 5 minute flurry) on Tuesday the paid for after school club (childcare) tried to cancel. Seriously?! What about parents who are working and suddenly need to drop everything at two hours notice to get children

I seem to remember last time we had snow that the cost of fleets of snow ploughs (and where would these be based?) would be way more than the cost of businesses and schools closing for a couple of days.

Yeah I do. It's a very nice school.
A lot of the teachers and support staff live in the estate opposite. We are friendly and chat. I'm involved in the governance

Dull it’s possible you didn’t get the job because you’re incapable of spelling the word ‘phone’.

Flouncy doves, if I choose to spell 'phone' as 'fone' on an internet forum then that is up to me.
I can assure you that I am perfectly 'capable', scoring 100 per cent in a series of grammar, spelling and proofreading tests, which is why I was the last one in the room.
Sneery pedants need to get a life tbh.

Only 2 primary schools closed in Fulham I believe. I overheard our (primary head & deputy) discussing that the playground was probably safer than the walk to school as the playground was cleared & gritted whereas the pavement was icy
