To hate the stickers on the back of cars?

TillyMint81 · 28/02/2018 18:04

I know, I know, not my car, not my place to moan but...
One that I saw today made me a bit sick in my mouth. It said 'IF YOU ARE GOING TO REAR END ME...pull my hair first'

There was one that used to drive round town with loads of them on the back. Another that had the silhouette of a woman on her back with the legs akimbo. Confused

Honk If You're Horny!!!

MothertotheLordsofmisrule · 01/03/2018 14:36

I saw one of the old school windscreen banners with names of gf/bf or h/w.

It had the mans name and (I quote) 'Me bitch'

Obviously had a lot of girlfriends and so couldnt afford to keep changing the name.🙄

TillyMint81 · 01/03/2018 14:39

@FreudianSlurp no, please do take it off topic. That's horrendous. Maybe we could make stickers to stick on the cars who don't leave space. 😡😡😳

I don't get the "bitch" ones - who wants to call themselves that?

ItWentInMyEye · 01/03/2018 14:45

I regularly pass a car with family stick figures on, and it includes one of a baby with wings.

SistersOfPercy · 01/03/2018 14:53

Stick families were huge in the US when I was over there ten years ago, every mall had a little booth selling them.
You'd walk past giant SUV's with stick figures of the family including grandparents and pets, they covered half the back window.

My first car had a sticker that read 'heaven won't have me and hell is afraid I'll take over'. I liked that one.

I once saw "I'm not drunk, I'm avoiding potholes" which I thought was pretty amusing, and appropriate.

dingdongdigeridoo · 01/03/2018 15:51

The stick figure families are awful. Nobody gives a shit about your children and dogs!

I agree about the bitch ones. Just gross. I worked with a woman who was well into her 50s and had a pink car covered in ‘bitch and proud’ type stickers, playboy bunnies and tinkerbell. It makes cars look cheap and crap.

pedigreeRacer · 01/03/2018 15:57

@ShowOfHands

Woman on the school run has "Cowboy's butts drive me nuts" (apostrophe and all).

You know that the apostrophe's correct, right?

Pleasebeafleabite · 01/03/2018 16:48

Only if it refers to cigarette butts pedigree

Unless he’s a medical marvel

MadMags · 01/03/2018 17:23

How many arses do you think a cowboy has, pedigree?!

Flatpackjackie · 01/03/2018 17:28

YouBetterWork, that is incredibly naff.

Personal plates are the height of tackiness.

Flatpackjackie · 01/03/2018 17:30

pedigree - wrong!

NC1990 · 01/03/2018 19:37

I never get the Mumsnet hatred of personal plates. Unless it spells out an offensive word I really don't see the issue, if people can afford it why not? But each to their own.

ShowOfHands · 01/03/2018 19:37

@pedigreeRacer

It certainly isn't correct.

TillyMint81 · 01/03/2018 21:03

Thanks everyone. These have given me a good giggle.

Yes, hate all these; no one cares if you have a baby/twins/show dogs on board or those stupid double entendre slogans
Agree with useless stickers but the baby on board one is important to use only when you do have baby on board and should be taken out when not travelling with baby. I only know this because DH is a paramedic and told me that in a car crash sometimes babies can be thrown out, horrible i know. But if you have a baby on board sign and empty car seat. They would check surrounding areas for baby! So important both ways to find your baby or not waste time.

I should really hope that he wouldn't ignore an empty car seat because there's no sticker on the window...

MadMags · 01/03/2018 21:35

I wouldn’t worry Tiramisu my DH and brother are both paramedics and they said the signs meaning anything is horse shit!

thenightsky · 01/03/2018 21:36

Oh blimey OP. I clicked on this thread as I was going to mention a really vile sticker, but its the one you actually posted on your opening post!

If you're gonna ride my ass at least pull my hair' is the one I saw. [vom]

jarhead123 · 01/03/2018 21:53

Saw one today that said 'I have a dig bick' and then some sentence about the reader being dirty. Classy!

blaaake · 01/03/2018 23:08

See I don't understand what many people's problems are with private plates. They only look naff if they're illegally spaced or in a strange font, but both of mine are legal; one spells my (5 letter) name, the other has my initials on. They're on Audi's though which invokes fury

Also @Birdsgottafly yep I already know there's a few threads about me incoming GrinGrinGrin

SciFiLover · 01/03/2018 23:10

BABY ON BOARD signs mean that if you are in a crash, emergency services have to keep looking for a baby until someone confirms they aren't in the vehicle.
It's really important to have one!

No one takes the sign off when the kids are not in the car, so how long are emergency services supposed to look for a non-existent child?

Do you also really believe a baby is being ignored because their parents didn't put a sign? Give emergency services a bit of credit, will you
