Am I being silly?

I kept DD (5 yr old) home from reception today due to the snow, despite her school being open, but just realised that most people think I've been a bit silly.

Her attendance otherwise is good. We're in London and there's only a few inches of snow. We're only a short walk from the school as well Blush

I don't drive and there isn't a bus going to the school. The reason I was nervous was its very slippery out, and the school is up a very steep hill and down another very long steep hill. DH is out so I'd have to take DS2 in his buggy. I felt really unsafe keeping DD and myself on our feet, especially if I slipped on a hill and sent DS and buggy crashing into traffic?

If you're wheeling a buggy/pram, I'd get yourself a wrist strap too, or fashion a makeshift one at least. I've slipped before and had to dash after a pram, not fun.

Don't worry about it, I've kept my son (9) off of school for 2 days, he has a cold and has a slight temperature, but mostly he's tired and needs some time off to re charge his battery's.

Let's hope today isn't the day they learn how to use apostrophes, eh? Grin
