It's really cold. Make sure any hutches are well covered/lagged (but that they can breathe too) and have lots of bedding/hay/straw for them to burrow in. Check water regularly as it will freeze quickly.

A little feed and water put out for birds and wildlife is always a nice touch too.

I've been out to feed the birds this morning. No outside pets though.

Ditto GreatDuck. We have a bird cafe in our back garden, with seed mix, suet cake, fat balls, suet logs, peanuts and nyger seeds. Dog, guinea pigs and fish are all warm indoors. :-)

Watching the birds in the garden is one of my favourite pass times Grin

I once got a pair of waxwings in my garden. Major excitement. Grin

My quail have a lovely warm hutch with loads of hay and straw to burry themselves in, along with seed,.meal worms and suet balls. They are currently standing in the exposed run part despite there being a blizzard!

Spanglybangles · 28/02/2018 12:01

Not strictly pets I know, but I saw a field with some new born lambs in it the other day and was so worried for them last night in the wind and snow...hoping their mums managed to keep them sheltered and warm.

MsMalcontent · 28/02/2018 12:02

Please don't bring outdoor pets inside to warm them up then put them back out - the extreme changes in temperature can be fatal.

OnionKnight · 28/02/2018 12:05

We have a rabbit and she currently has more straw than she knows what to do with as well as a heat pad, I was worried about her last night but she is fine.

You lucky thing Liz. I've got woodpeckers that come and go ( can hear then more than see them ) which is lovely.
