Just that really. I am fed up of seeing post after post of threads from people who have got all excited from a Clearblue test and it’s plainly false hope. I am talking massively convincing positives, not grey evap lines.

I have attached one of mine from last year and I got it time and time again until I realised that I wasn’t pregnant. Luckily I am pregnant now, but what about the people that try and try. Just makes me Angry!
Why are they still allowed to sell this expensive crappy tests???
I am thinking to make them aware (I am sure lots of people have) Does anyone else have pics of their FPS?

When I was TTC many years ago, I used those pregnancy strips off eBay which costs pence, which are very sensitive and never had a false positive.

Not sure why Clear Blue, which is not cheap is in business if they cannot even get the reading right.

I used a digital clear blue 2 weeks after my IVF embryo transfer and it came up as pregnant almost straight away. My blood test came back the next day with a BFP so I didn't have any issues with it.

I've only had positives on clearblue when I've actually been pregnant. But I remember once I looked at a test after the time meant and there was a very thin pale line. I was not pregnant that time.

Shattered04 · 28/02/2018 10:56

They don't always come back positive regardless of result, only very occasionally. If they were always giving false positives 100% of the time then I'm sure more people would realise.

The false positives vary too, from the thin blue line mentioned above which is obviously not a real positive, to the ones in the OP's picture, and anything in between. I had something in between - thick blue line but quite faint. Perfectly visible without squinting though. Most definitely not pregnant on any other test nor that cycle.

I’ve only ever used the cheap internet dip ones and never had a false positive.

Always followed up with a generic one to check, boots or Sainsbury’s have been ok for me.

I’d never spend the amount they ask for a clear blue, they’re stupid money for the normal ones, never mind the digital ones.

That was my Sainsbury's test at 8pm. I then got a clear blue digital the next day which said pregnant 3+

Hi guys.

I'm new here but was wondering if anyone could help and maybe share any similar stories? I'll briefly explain:

The first day of my last period was 25th November. I had a sperm donation (I'm a lesbian... I have a sperm donor) on 9th December and was due to ovulate the next day. Fast forward two and a half weeks and I'm 3 days past my missed period and I have 4 positive pregnancy tests in front of me. Yay! All is good, but 3 days later it's New Years Eve and I start bleeding. I had some spotting during the week but wasn't too concerned as it was still early (assuming implantation still). The bleed on NYE was heavier than the spotting, but not pouring out and all I used was a panty liner. I saw one clot in the toilet (sorry for tmi) about an inch and a half long. The bleed stopped after 2 days and I assumed I had a chemical pregnancy/early miscarriage because of the clot and because my only symptom of sore boobs had stopped hurting. I was sad, but I'm realistic and knew this is a possibility and life goes on. I stopped bleeding by the 02.01 and my CM was back to normal. Last night (06.01) I took another pregnancy test to confirm the chemical pregnancy. The test line came up nearly as quick as the urine sample was soaking up on the test, which confused me as I was sure it would have at least taken it's time or faded somewhat. I understand that some level of HCG might still be in my urine. About half an hour after taking that test I started spotting, again throwing me out as I thought all bleeding had stopped at least 4 days ago. Another test this morning gave another quick positive and I'm still spotting today. I got myself a docs appointment this morning also and they've given me an appointment at the EPU for a scan/internal scan on Wednesday.

I was just wondering, has anyone been through anything similar where they've thought they've had an early miscarriage and it's actually been okay?
