This guy has been working at the company for 6 months. Still on probation. He's ok as a person, little bit full of himself but that's about it. Anyway his timekeeping is really starting to make me angry! I'm in the finance industry so we keep track of time and charge it to clients.
Anyway I heard him mention a manager pulled him up on chargeable time his was alot lower than our target because he's not doing his hours!
I watched him today come in at 11, went out for lunch with someone for about a hr and left at 4!! He does this numerous times a week. How does he get away with it!!?? Makes me angry that most people in the office work hard including me and put in the min hours and he swans in and out whenever.
I feel like saying something but I know it's not my business really but just irritating.

Is he paid a set wage regardless?

Fallenmadonnawiththebigboobies · 27/02/2018 20:12

Presumably he won’t pass his probation.

ThePinkOcelot · 27/02/2018 20:15

Bit of an idiot if he’s on probation! Someone must be noticing this surely! Other than you.

Peachyfizz · 27/02/2018 20:17

Yea set wage. He must also be charging the client for the hours he isn't doing to make his time up. Apparently he has also been putting alot to admin but we don't know why as we shouldn't be doing admin work. Prob looking on the internet of something.
God knows why you would do this on your probation let alone at all!

Presumably he wont pass his promotion.

Ooh Youd be surprised. Sometimes, the more of an unreliable arse hole you , the better you're thought of and the more you get on

GreenTulips · 27/02/2018 20:25

I felt me this a thin line

Speak up and you're causing and issue - maybe he manager has noticed and turns a blind eye? Maybe there are personal reasons? Maybe he's a CF and relies on people not noticing?
Maybe the manager is too scared to say anything?

Maybe be met people like this and it's difficult to know what the company line is!

Peachyfizz · 27/02/2018 20:26

Maybe. I looked at my senior managers calender today as I have my annual appraisal with him tomorrow and saw he has a "catch up" with this person later on in the day. But personally I don't think he will get pulled up on it because he's got the gift of the gab

But he's getting pulled up on it. I don't think you need to say anything to anyone. Management are noticing themselves.

Peachyfizz · 27/02/2018 20:51

Yea maybe but why is he still doing it when he's been pulled up on it? Baffles me? His work impacts ours as we will have to do his work or correct mistakes, so it's not like his actions don't impact us

I would have to say something. I've known someone be fired in the past and it only came to light when a colleague said something about said person never being here but always having flexi time.
